Pretty bad call dude. ;)

All sleet at the moment, not a flake to been seen.

Lousy a** winter.  <_<

Many snow reports southwest of you.  Would think it should very quickly go to snow.  When it does it's gonna flat out rip for awhile.  PRG was down to 1/8 mile in very heavy snow an hour or so ago.

KLAF reporting light snow at 0054z, with 4 mile vis.

Still not a flake here.

It's on the westside, so it's possible, as it's happened before where I've see sleet and it's snow on the other side...but the 4 mile vis is a tip off for SNPL mix.

Springfield IL almost doubled their season snowfall to date with this storm (was 5.5" heading into today).

Looks nothing like I anticipated. Figured we would get hit with strong band of WAA snows and then over to freezing drizzle after 2-3 inches. Sure, not looking that way based on radar trends. Would be odd to get our accumulations from deformation band in western iowa . Concern has always been dry air and weakening system. Maybe the moisture will feed back in from the southeast as radar implies slightly. Still, tough to do in weakening storm, but agree its early.

Got about 6" of snow that consists of 1/2 fluffy and 1/2 salt-like snow, bookended by 1/4-1/3" of sleet/ice mix at the start and an ongoing 1/4" crust of sleet/ice/rimed flakes/needles. Was an absolute nightmare to try and drive on the way home tonight, especially with a new sheen of ice on everything. During the middle of the event we were getting every kind of snowflake imaginable, including lots of needles and fat, rimey aggregates.

Very unusual event to be sure. Wierd to see a solid 6" snowcover with the trees iced up.

Good stuff. Storm definitely delivered down there. :)
