40/70 Benchmark
Lol that is not why. The def band from the bombing low set up shop over Ct. It had nothing to do with it coming north or west It most certainly did tuck west a bit at the last moment.
ag3
It's great that Kevin can wind up with 25" and still be screwed in the big scheme of things. lol I was afraid of this in recognize that it really only had so much northward potential. It had/has a lot more room to stay south and then east. But, hope springs eternal. Nice day here at the Beast. Weenie flakes short lines, daughter vanished onto the trails. The map is mm equivalent of liquid that falls as snow. 20"-25" shade is 1" of precip or about 10"-12" of snow. Boston, is in the 40mm shade, which is about 1.5" of liquid as snow. Damage In Tolland
It most certainly did tuck west a bit at the last moment.I don't agree with that. Maybe the mid level did if that's what you're referring to. The def band was farther west than modeled
Sugarloaf1989
I wonder if we can surpass the 80" seasonal snowfall mark here with this storm?
40/70 Benchmark
I think that was a possibility....the mid level low tracks are tough to nail...the srfc low actually went as planned.Well, fair enough....but lets just say some of the system's features ticked a bit west, and leave it at that.I see what Kev means. Zeus
Its been trending slightly back west with the lakes ULL the last 2 runs...that is good too. Looking much more modest with the front end thump it had shown yesterday.

ORH_wxman
GFS isdef looking better aloft at 72h. This won't be the NAM, but it will look better than 06z and for sure the putrid 00z run.
Damage In Tolland
NAM clown map is pretty comical I can't read that on phone. Is that around 20 for n Ct?
Clinch Leatherwood
Wow GFS is pretty wet here. Yeah, liking where eastern MA sits at this range. The last two developed a little later than originally modeled at this range but cranked once they were off the coast...which would be good and I think where we are seeing all the models go slowly. Less initial warmth, more back end thump

CoastalWx
Still looks too warm, but the srn vort really helps blow the precip up. I'm sure it won't be as compact either.

ORH_wxman
So far, the 00z Euro looks to be reeling in the other global models which overreacted last night. One of the reasons it is a lot better than its competition.
CoastalWx
Wouldnt deform and heavier precip get thrown farther west than that depicts? Probably, but it's a little compact as modeled. It's really tough to nail those details down this far out.

SR Airglow
Somewhat nice run for SLK on this, looks like .5"+ and they usually get good ratios up there so probably a 6-8" type deal. Not bad, but what do they have to do to get a nice storm? Their only real big hit was 12/26-27 where they got 24", made for some of the best skiing up there in recent memory, but since then all their snow has been from upslope and nickel and dime events... Berkshires seem to do well on this run, is it all snow in the ski areas of western MA?(Butternut, Jiminy, BEast ect...)? -skisheep

Good to see Harvey confident for the BOS folks. He usually doesn't bark much until he's sure. The trend of having that CCB/deformation really pop before exiting stage right is very good for the E MA coastal folk.
