wackymann
Because that's about 99% of the viewer/listener/readers So let's keep them all stupid by giving them dumbed-down forecasts with no information content. I think forecasters should strive to educate the listener, not keep them in the dark.

Zeus
I would love a probabilistic approach to weather forecasting. I love the maps that people post that show "probabilities of more than x inches of snow". Go to the HPc's winter weather page then. Right up your alley. Modfan
Yikes, everyone is discussing snow, but thats a ton of water for the south coast with deep snow pack and another rainer on its heels. Flooding concerns its almost time to hoist I was thinking the same thing. I am thankful most of my snow is gone (Under 5" in my yard), and the melt/refreeze has seemed to help. Zeus
Probably ok for Will, but not south of Pike. I think the mess makes it pretty far north verbatim on this run. And that back-end explosion that was further SW on previous runs looks like it just nips coastal NH, s ME, and extreme NE MA (like, Rockport) on this one. The takeaway is that the general shift north continues.
CoastalWx
The trend has been north with that s/w so something to watch.
moneypitmike
At least Jeff can open up the garage now and not leave the snow mobile idling with him inside. It was worse than that. He was revving it. Bad run for many, though.

ORH_wxman
Definitely need to watch the north trend. It will only go so far north with that block sitting up in Quebec, but it can inch far enough north probably to cut into the snow potential for SNE...esp pike southward. Sey-Mour Snow
Really getting concerned about water. ya models are trending to almost no snow for southern ct.... my concerns all along have been.. lack of a very strong high stuck over us (high moves east), storm isn't really "bombing" so no cold air will be dragged down, and now a bad track for our area means best precip rates and evaporational cooling will be well to our north.. CoastalWx
It's not the lack of high, the s/w keeps coming in further north and we lose separation between the Great lakes ULL and this s/w.
