CoastalWx
Something is causing these QPF bombs over SE MA and CC bay. Euro and GFS have it...might be strong low level frontogenesis or something. Cool to see. Oh yeah, still 4 days out.

Maybe it will be like the blizzard - QPF will continue to go up the closer we get to the event?

Seeing it on some of the other guidance gives it credence but part of me is looking back at what the GFS just did to us this past weekend when it spit out the 1.5-2" totals the day before. Hard to believe models are in pretty good agreement on the system itself this far out.
Damage In Tolland
I'd start preparing for massive and long duration power outages now. 1-2 feet of mashed potatoes is going to cause all kinds of problems on an already compromised infra structure

CoastalWx
What do you mean same areas in trouble? You mean interior will be powder? Pretty sure if we see that track you won't have wet snow, in fact I'm sure. Even 850s on the gfs are colder.

dendrite
Gotta love the gfs storm sniffing capabilities this year. Way ahead of the op euro yet again on this one.I thought the GFS didnt come on board until 18z?

What an absolute crush job the 06z GFS is for areas jus tS of BOS. That is sick. 2.5-3"+. The sounding on Twisterdata for that area looks like all snow. Ginx snewx
12/9/05? further south, tickling the SNE coast line by 50-75 miles bombing out as it crawls due east, oh yeah this will be interesting. Climo best time of year and incredible dynamics.

Baroclinic Zone
Are we looking at flooding rains down here? Verbatim. 06z GFS gives you some front end WAA snows, transitioning to heavy rain, tha back over to light snow on the back side. Probably lie 75% of what falls would be rain though. HIPPYVALLEY
Thankfully, this looks to have a pretty expansive precipitation shield so everyone in SNE should see some snow. Maybe even the bretheren in E NY.

I think of this came closer, then yeah it could....but the way it is now...I don't think it will be wet for you. I suppose it could start wet? I'm pretty sure the first half would be pretty wet...even up here. But it might not be the total slopfest at 31F that some other areas might get....could be that 28-29F wet snow. Especially as this gets going, the snow will probably dry out. If this tracks closer to BID or something than yeah..it might change things. I know the primary drives far west initially to help warm the atmosphere up a bit, but seems tough to get 20" of mash potatoes with a BM track. Yea seems that way to me but we are days away from knowing and with things trending colder who knows. wet or dry as long as its white.
