I visited my dad in Enfield this morning and I must say that even without any snowcover over there, it's as somber and grey a landscape as one would find in late November. No signs of spring at all, even farm fields that get fertilized are brown, spring is late in showing up this year.

On the way home it's funny to see snowcover again as you climb up Mile Hill up past 900' as there is zero snowcover outside of the hills here right now.

I didn't realize it was cloudy down there... that'll definitely make it feel like "not spring" this time of year.

Been a beautiful day up here, but looks like we are in a weenie sunny break all afternoon.

Not mid-winter, but no one is boating either... just a nice spring-like day.  Absolutely no sign of the 1-2" of snow that fell last night as that melted by like 11am.

This is what I think of when I think of spring skiing... 100% open with a deep snowpack (snow gets removed from the base area all winter so the webcam image is misleading in that regard), warm, and sunny.

But then again, one could say this looks like a mild day in mid-winter with deep snow cover.

Weenie sunny day in northern VT.

Its not there anymore.

Upslope runoff down the Hudson has resulted in a reversed flow like the Day After Tomorrow?

This spring is pretty much what we once had in the old days.  Back before computers and slantstickers.  Raw ocean winds, dark skies, angry people from Massachusetts..that's what I call Spring.

You're still posting here?

I had a bit of snow this morning.

Today was a very normal lousy spring day in eastern MA.  I'm not sure what all the excitement is one way or the other.  Early April in Boston is like London any time of the year.

Melissa is out in Cleveland.  Nice stutter step back to a better job in her area.  She was good, will miss her.

So stoked to spend some money, total and complete property over haul.  Just broke out into sunshine with clouds in the se horizon, some beautiful colors on this early spring evening, although I hate them just had to grab some pansies at the nursery today.

Yeah definitely didn't seem like a nice day down there.  This is the time of year when there's an especially big difference in attitudes from coastal sections and the deeper interior... also the time of year when BTV is usually the warmest spot in New England as its the furthest from the ocean and has the most topographic barriers to stop murky maritime airmasses.

I can see Will's point today... overcast, 44F, with a north breeze does not sound particularly uplifting.

Up here the temperature was the same mid40s but it was under mostly sunny skis.  BTV was 50F and sunny this afternoon.

My high of 48 that occurred for 20 minutes really paid off I'll tell ya. Walking out to 43 was amazing. Clothes off.

Its march what do you expect, according to climo today was warmer than normal not an opinion just fact.........your are a professional, I am positive the last two March's did not skew your idea of what this month is?
