Actually UNH has done really well this year. Prob like 80-85" at least even though they've had rain on a few systems. They had 14" or so on the 3/19 storm.

That's a great snow spot all things considered. Obviously no met program..but just saying from a snow standpoint.

Are you describing yourself before the 3/19 storm when you pretended all month you wanted winter to end...only to weenie out and say you were kidding when the storm looked great for Maine?

You mean like the reverse physc that a lot use on here, Yes, Worked perfectly, Actually twice, Right before the blizzard to, I should have employed the tactic all winter if i knew it was going to be that successful

Plymouth NH sucks for snow. He would be better going to UNH.
They avg 3" more than ORH at the COOP...sure, less KUs, but can really rack up the 6-12 inchers. Then there is the snowfall retention which is a major plus. Plymouth has had some biggies...they've just been in a rut.

But yeah...yesterday was an above normal day temp-wise and people were still trying to convince us it was mid winter lol. Spring doesn't mean tanning and going boating like some here seem to think...in March it means 40s/50s and wearing a sweatshirt instead of being freezing walking outside. It's really not that bad out.

Exactly. Bingo.

Nice weather doesn't mean tanning and boating.  It can just be not freezing out.  I no longer have to wear a facemask to avoid freezing my skin at 5am in -40F wind chills.  That is mid-winter to me.

We had a nice beach day here today.  The sun wasn't so bright that we had to load up on sunscreen.  The cool air made the water feel so much warmer.  When it gets up over 70 degrees the 39 degree water really feels cold so hopefully it stays around 45 for awhile.

Admittedly I'm hopping around the office to get one of my balls to descend again, but it was all in good fun.

It looks like mid-winter here. Though I can understand from the viewpoint in Plymouth NH where theres been bare ground most of the winter how you would not see it from our angle back home.

Mid winter in ORH looks like melting piles of snow and water running down the streets?  Maybe during a January thaw or something.

You guys make it sound like you've still got snow stuck on all the trees and the evergreens a great big powdery snow ghosts, with icicles and x-mas lights.

I guess I just don't think of snow cover as meaning it looks like mid-winter.  There's a definite texture change in the snow that makes it look like its thawing.

But 48F and sunny is just not cold to me.

See now you are a NNE'er... after a long winter, you start only wearing hoodies around campus at anything above like 35F, lol.  I think its funny how just about every NNE poster has been saying 40s and sunny is not cold, and dendrite is breaking out shorts at 50F.  I'm almost tempted to go over to UVM this weekend for the eye candy, as if its sunny and 50F, I know the college co-eds will be out and flaunting.

Meanwhile down south folks are still wearing winter jackets and hats at the same temperatures or even a tick warmer.

I looks like late winter perhaps is a better reference...but we have plenty of days in February where its like 35F and we get melting in the streets.

I'll tell you this. The scene does not make me think of spring.

Fair enough.  I guess the same could be said for here.  I just feel like a corner has been turned in the way the snow *looks*.  Like Birving's pics... the one from 8 days ago looked like mid-winter and the current one looks like late March.  It looks like a January thaw with a lot longer daylight and stronger sun, I guess, lol.

What I will say is it seems like spring on this forum because all we are doing is b*tching back and forth about which it looks like more, and haven't had an actual weather discussion in days ;)

You know its a slow weather time when all the regulars (mods and non-mods) are trolling back and forth.

Def not mid winter here. Late winter early spring

Snow OTG. A dusting this morning. Mid 40s overcast.

What is the big deal

Lots of trolling and toolage in this thread

lol... goddammit HubbDave, its either feet of powder, snow caked trees & icicles, or tanning, boating and swimming.  There is no inbetween.

I visited my dad in Enfield this morning and I must say that even without any snowcover over there, it's as somber and grey a landscape as one would find in late November. No signs of spring at all, even farm fields that get fertilized are brown, spring is late in showing up this year.

On the way home it's funny to see snowcover again as you climb up Mile Hill up past 900' as there is zero snowcover outside of the hills here right now.

The only person in between is me lol, no torch and certainly not mid winter, just another normal March day here, torch comes mid April although perhaps a tasty treat later next week!!!  In any even a fantastic holiday weekend ahead, whether you are rolling in ice pack or doing your spring clean up, make it the best holiday weekend you have ever had!!!
