Hopefully next winter has some longer cold stretches. We had a decent one this winter but it happened to come when we had little snow on the ground in late January.

We def had some poorly timed torches in between storms when the snow is more vulnerable. You really need to get layers of snow to make it bulletproof. Like 3 or 4 solid snows in a row layering on eachother...then its able to withstand a torch cutter much better.

That was the biggest problem, We never established any type of base, In Jan, When we did look to start one, It got wiped out with an ill timed rain storm, And we never were able to recover from that as the next few storms were of the dry variety, But it was until Feb before that happened which was to little to late

You lose the fun science in Spring, like we have in the winter Soon it will be used to show weenies why we won't get severe wx. Horrible.

It certainly does not have the same flavor as winter threads do, I mean i find it quite boring outside of some severe threats in the summer, Days and days of 70-80's becomes redundant

agree..there's not much to track right now, so might as well have some fun....as long as it's in one thread like this, I don't see the harm.

Yeah, I thought everyone was under control and did not go way off the edge, It won't be long that you will be hearing crickets in here

Our lack of a really good December hurt. We built up some pack at the end of the month, but that awful torch in the 2nd week of January killed it...if we had gotten some good CAD during that torch, it would have ended much better, but unfortunately it doesn't always go that way.

This was a pretty warm winter/cold season outside of the two bookend months of November and March...so we were fortunate to get as much snow as we did. Hopefully next year delievers a more prolific period during the heart of winter. January '09 and January '11 were classic.

Yes, In all the good years it seems that we had snow in december which we were able to build off of, Every winter is different, And we will look forward to a better one again next year

Scoots, what should we discuss in the spring? You tell us what you'd like to talk about now as winter slowly slips away

Meteorologically, its a pretty barren time around here for good discussion. If we lived in the plains it would be different. Our springs here consist of some nice days with a ton of garbage east wind marine puke fog/drizzle days mixed in. By middle May we usually get our first severe threat...but those bust so often around here. Its like rooting for snow in South Carolina.

Thats partially why some of us have been looking for a few more snow chances to extend the season and good disco. That chance seems to be slipping thru our fingers now as modeling has lost the snow. I just don't know what else we can really talk about this time of year. It's an awful time if year that we just have to man up and get thru. Scooter is going to have to talk about temps and dews as we enter the warm season.

Maybe I'll just slip away into the sports section. It's just painful unless and EML is present.

Absolutely horrible, and depressing talk in here.

Talk of cold and dry April weeks ... debating the number of days with dews above 70 (btw someone saying no more than 5 in SNE is laughable)...impending swamp-azz conditions, and thoughts of Kevin enjoying the sweat pouring off of his dome, down his back and into his thong as he runs endlessly, up and down the street in his neighborhood, day and night.

...Just down right suicidal,

There is some good discussion in the Midwest/Lakes sub-forum, as well as the Central/Western when there is a severe threat. But that doesn't do much if you can really only get into severe weather when it's in your backyard. And of course that doesn't really help the quality of threads over here in the spring.
