Anywhere with shade on my street still has pretty good snowcover. We'll hold on to the very last of it until next month probably.

Each side of the street I live on are completely different. One side is snow covered and the other is bare grass. That's all changed after today but that is generally what it looks like on my street for the early part of March at least, I think it's pretty cool.

First thing i thought of when I got home was doing some gardening. I mean, man....Spring Fling!!!

Mar27_ORH.jpg

All of our snow is near the end though and we should be down to just piles come Apr 1. Ιn 2008 I still had over 20" of snow as we headed into April. The March snow/depth has been solid, but nothing epic. I know we're just having fun at the xpense of LL, but I'd assume some of that snow in your front yard is from the walkway being cleared and the road plows. My front yard, on the east side, is getting some bare spots around the trees and over the septic area. The backyard still has quite a bit of snow with generally 6"+, but it's rapidly deteriorating away from the house. The foot prints out to my wx station have expanded to the point where Marcus would be documenting it for his next Bigfoot convention.

What a waste of a cold airmass next week. No storms.

Oh, well.  Conditions should prolong an already successful sugaring season, though.

Meanhwile, if there are any more tired jokes about how someones remaining snow screams springtime, golf. mugs, jugs, etc., I'm going to scream.  Worst thread ever

33.5/29, looks like a light dusting overnight.

I had bare ground by this time in 2008....so bad comparison for here.

septic tank also thawed the grass, 10 inches still in parts of the back yard, fields are 80% snow free and big patches in front yard.  I moved here April 1 2008 to that huge snowpack and it set my expectations way too high.  At this point, bring the warmth and get rid of the snow.

Pretty sure if March 2012 was followed by March 2008 a toaster bath would've ended it for me already. Just for some perspective I was looking at that data last night, we had 17" at the office going into the 1st that year. It's really hard to describe this March as anything other than normal.

Yeah, figured your depth would be lower given the gradient, but didn't know you were bare into April. What is the avg last 1" depth at ORH? Median may be more representative given some years will greatly skew the mean, but idk what you have for data onhand. It was definitely a solid B here for March snow/retention, but I just can't put it in the A/epic category. Maybe you can down there.

Pretty similar up here in the valley. Some spots as much as a foot in the shade but septic area melted out and so did areas around/under evergreens.

I wonder what some of these places look like without the piles of snow from plows and shoveling and snow blowing. Snow usually looks more impressive near tight developments with driveways, walkways, etc just due to the shovel piles.

But anyway, some rotten looking snowpack that is obviously dying a slow death doesn't necessarily mean deep deep winter lol, nor pure spring fling.
