Sounds like the dead of winter based on those obs.  Brrr, frigid.

I made it to 55F.  Just awful out there for any activities.

Took the dog to the park today and didn't even need a jacket. Beautiful. Low dews helped eat up the mud too.

A beaut!

Wow, you can really see the Euro trying to go full on spring toward the end of that run...  demolishes the cold with a steady diet of diabatic normalization such that by D10 the 0C 850 isotherm is relegated to the N tier.  Even has a big plume of high plains warm air poised waft east - probably bullcrap at this range, but it really doesn't seem this run wants anything to do with get a snow threat going out of next weeks cold.

Kevin ducked out of work early to start desperately laying tarps over his 5" of snow pack to help preserve it for another couple days.

:weenie: :weenie: :weenie:

Though we do have some cold to contend with nex week (looks impressive by April standards) the next few days in the lowlands look pretty decent with some sneaky scooter warmth for Monday.

I could see a fairly decent warm up... at least a couple days above average... once we get rid of this cold push next week. That said, the cold push does look impressive. With any luck we can squeeze a snow event out of it too.

Pretty wood, nice bold grain. Sassafras is nicely colored too, also with a spicy aroma (if my 40+ yr old memories of NNJ are reliable.) Glad you killed that Norway maple!

I split a ton of sassafras that came down in Sandy, and burned it this winter, seasons so quickly! Easy splitting and smells like A&W:)

My heart set on spring and return to the other weather types, but ... one last decent hurrah would be fun too.   It's not like it would stick around anyway.   Snow in April is known as "Farmer's Gold" anyway.

might be cold rain instead of wet snow with this light thing...

53 and mostly sunny.

I guess I am supposed to say how miserable it is? Great day, just fantastic and there is zero mud season here, none at all.

dude yes it was warm but cmon I am outside all day, warm morning with a chilly wind then dark clouds all afternoon and your hyperbole is as bad as kevs.

Nah...we're only supposed to criticize Kevin's hyperbole in winter...but we dare not say how this isn't anything short of Spring Fling!!

I mean nothing says full-on spring like pics of bare ground with dormant grass, no buds on trees, and a few crusty snowpiles.
