dendrite
I'm going to bump this thread in May when we have a strong NW wind and highs near 50F. I bet most people will be complaining about the cold. Strong winds via CAA don't exactly equate to today.
Mr Torchey
You better wait until it warms up to do any of that stuff ,Deep Deep winter until mothers day this year, And with the 1-2' of snow next week that you are getting in CT, You won't be able to gather up all that wood in time go go go Oh hell, heading out back to stack it right now, will be done by 3, can't wait to start chopping it combined with Sandy wood..........good to go for years! Sugarloaf1989
That should be when Blizz is in torch mode and we have 850 temps of +18C, yet cold NE winds and temps in the 50s. Can't wait. When does the switch to using Phoenix, AZ for summer temps come around?
Cold Miser
Garth and I lucked out with a 6 per hour. I will never forget it. Didn't you and I get some crazy band 2 winters ago that gave us a few crazy hours of mega accum's? The night I was getting bent out of shape thinking there was sleet falling but it wasn't. Mr Torchey
That's just a travesty. Awful yard. Yeah its beyond grotesque right now, can't wait to put in the ornamental beach grass, rose of sharon and a killer perennial garden across the back fence. Putting in a beach garden to the side of the deck...lots of grasses, lavender, and other sandy soil loving perennials it will smell and look incredible!! Can't wait to take before and after shots. We actually did the same thing to our yard when we moved in here 10 yrs ago...there was too much shade and almost nothing would grow...it looked rough for a couple of years, but it's really come along... ORH_wxman
LOL at the few hanging on for that elusive April snowstorm while the rest of us know it's over.... I get measurable snow in 72% of Aprils...we have an anomalous setup over the next 10-14 days that would increase the liklihood of snow versus regular climo. So I should toss it all and say no chance of snow? What would be your outlook from my viewpoint?
Brian5671
It's climo in most interior areas. Absolutely. But the vast majority here live on the coast and valley. Outside of Worcester and a few other spots, it's over.

You live in possibly one of the best spots for April snows outside of the Berkshires. It becomes highly elevation dependent from here on out.... (simply talking SNE-RI, CT and MA) For the rest of us living on the shore, lower elevations etc, anything over an inch is becoming highly unlikely. Ginx snewx
This one flew over my head. On a serious note, 3ft with blizz conditions would be cool, but I find the wind to be annoying because of snow measuring issues. I had 18" from the blizz, which is still impressive, but I enjoyed my 1ft storms with lighter winds more. I know I'm probably on my own there, but it's the truth. I got to enjoy a NNE no wind dumping last week it was sweet but as you know I have a drift fetish. Growing up on the coast I grew fond of wind swept snow storms. I often wondered about people's thoughts on a per storm basis, and then saw this thread the other day. Fairly decent talk: http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php/topic/39798-is-climotology-overused/
