Would that be after the thread for the 1-2' of snow that the whole region will see next week? With all the snow talk i don't see any threads yet on there potential for discussion

You may be correct.  It may be tough to focus on a gtg with all of that snow talk, but again, maybe the gtg will happen at the right time as it can focus around meeting up someplace in Tolland where we can roll around together, naked in feet upon feet of early April snow while we all drink bitter tasting craft beers that no one's ever heard of before, yet we must pretend to enjoy in order to feel hip.

I'm doing yard work in 8" of snow. Trees and branches can be pruned, cut and stacked. Cleaning out the potters, gutters, etc. have to paint the trim on the shed, that sort of stuff.

Sorry to hear that 49F and sunny keeps you inside because of a little snow on the ground. Get the stuff done so when it's 70F and sunny you can just sit on the deck.

Painting with snow coming tonight. Hmm why didn't I think of that? Thanks dude!

Temps in the 40s are putrid. I'll do yardwork when its 65F out...and when the snow actually melts. 90% of people will not being doing yardwork until it is warmer.

So you're doing yard work in the 6-8 inches of snow you told us you had OTG yesterday? Cool. Snap a few pics of the rakes and grass and stuff

No. But I'm just making a point. I would do yardwork later if the useless glacier was gone. Yes I'm wearing shorts though. Enjoy your deep winter.

Right - check out this air mass coming into the MW, D5 ...  The key here is that the offset will happen then too - just won't be as noticeable amid that type of anomaly.  It will also modify much quicker, too.

April sun obviously has an effect, but 522 thicknesses are chilly no matter what time of year.

Yeah, The euro gives me here .50" qpf over the next 10 days so at 24:1 ratios i could see a foot if it falls strictly at night

Disagree. Both of my neighbors have had the chainsaws out since Sunday and my mom and dad have been doing what they can outside too. 65F in the sun can actually be hot if you're working your tail off.

to each is own...  subjective.  Silly discussion really, but around here, it's in the 50s right now.  With lots of intense sun and only light winds, gives the affect of it being warmer at that.  Plus, ...although I abhor raking and finding it to be among the more tedious activities that challenges the tolerance of man.. a few swipes and your metabolically heating, too.  The combination of all makes a day like today very conducive to yard work.

If it clouded over and got windy...of course not. But as is - just sayin'

Not painting a house, lol. Some 2-inch trim under a shed roof isn't going to matter if we get an inch of snow. But yes before starting any small project I'd wait for a week of sun and 70F just to be sure. I'm sure your wife is stoked at how productive you are this time of year in the awful sunny upper 40s!

That's nice, but I don't think I've seen anyone out doing yardwork here. I'm sure there's a few...but a massive majority don't view temps in the 40s as yardwork weather over a 65F day...to each his own though.

Yeah, I'm wondering if we can cash-in and grab a blue bomb out of that when it tries to transition back.  A lot of the operational guidance "hint" that when that rolls up into the Maritimes, it will leave a confluence into Ontario, and a generously proportioned +PP situated N - southern stream make come along up underneath that.   Talking perhaps 7 or 8 days from now.

It seems like something is in the cards during the next two weeks. The pattern would argue for it, but obvviously little nuances aside.

nothing beats that pure blizzard sorry

I agree...I was jealous to miss out on that snow band...though I did get a piece of it on the northern edge. But the meat of that is probably like a one in 30 year type experience...true whiteout 5" per hour stuff with 60mph+ gusts. That is not replicated very easily or often.

Yeah it's been busy up here...it really must be different though in different areas. But people are out and working these days up here.

Lots and lots of yard work and burning. But it may be a country thing because the suburbs don't usually burn their brush.

This time of year is huge for yard work because you don't need a permit to burn if there is at least 1-inch of snow on the ground. Get out and get all the deadfall, down branches, brush together and burn it before the snow melts. It is very hot doing work at 45-50 and sun this time of year. Sweating.
