it can be A LOT COLDER this time of year than yesterday although that's not a bad start

before superstorm 93 the day before only made it into the upper 20s if i recollect correctly at bdl and the day of the march 20 07 noreaster temps were only in the low to mid 20s before the snow started to fly in spfd and i dont beleive even as the snow turned to heavy sleet that the temps rose above 27-28f

lets see daytime highs in the 20s this time of year in sne (coastal plain/valleys) before we really start talking about how cold yesterday afternoon was lol

And going back further, consider the cold of April 1982, or March 1967.  More recently, in 2007 Farmington recorded highs of 9, 18, 7 on March 6-8.  (And that 9 was recorded at 12:01 AM.  The aft. high on 3/6 was near zero; only made it to -2 at my place.)

i play at spring meadows in gray mostly since it is right around the corner. Play in most of their monday night scrambles too...fun times.

Nice course, I have played there a few times, With a membership its hard to travel around to others with the $ investment, Looks like mid to late april right now before we get to play this year unless things really turn in the next few weeks up this way

Lol. Nobody down here has even started yet. Looks to be another week or two at earliest

Wow, that is surprising! I have only done a couple but they are in full swing up here, what are you waiting on? Its cold, but not like its going to snow and stay around down there, hell even up here 10 inches vanished in 23 hours.

That seems odd, I need to call my buddy in Trenton.

The weather is horrible, contracts are slow on coming back, and it's way to early to start laying mulch.

We have luck out the last few marches. In a good spring we get a full month of cutting in during April. I'm sure you will come back and say your buddy in the green meadows of Trenton is cutting and laying sod

Mulch? What does mulch have to do with spring cleanups?  My clients have been pestering me and I keep trying to tell them no  way no how, with this much improved economy people are ready to spend some serious money this year.  I don't mulch until mid May I never lay mulch down on top of perennials.

Good luck you on your season TIm and all the success in the world!

Spring definitely failing here, had my third snow event of the month with more on the way Monday night. March should finish at least -2F with the extremely cold temperatures in the next 7-10 days, and I don't see much signs of the blocking breaking down once it retrogrades to central Canada. Interestingly, the 12z ECM shows height rises out west at Day 10 with a pool of -16C 850s being forced south from Hudson Bay, so we could see one final major cold shot around 3/28. It wouldn't surprise me if the cold weather and snow threats continued into early April with spring being on the late side. In 2010 and 2012, Dobbs Ferry had nearly full leaf-out by 4/15...don't see that happening this year at all.

not trying to be a debbie as it certainly looks cold with chances of snow even down here. wish all those that want snow well, hope you get yours. I have noticed that the green up has started down here. lack of long lasting snow cover over the last few weeks and longer days help. even though it was chilly yesterday, the lack of wind and mid day filtered sun made it quite bearable.
