I've sort of had enough of this, but it is fun to see one last time.

Pulled into the office parking lot at 1,550ft to full on arctic conditions... winds drifting and sifting snow across the lot, frozen tire tracks, temperature of 9F with a wind chill of -10F.  Fresh snow drifts and wind lips all over the place from yesterday's snowfall.

Going to be a brutal mid-March day at elevation... been getting regular gusts to 60mph now up high with wind chills <-30F.

It was awesome finally getting a real below normal day, first one since the blizzard, March is finally acting like March.  My -0.7 and -1.2 calls for Boston and Nyc in the temp contest are looking absolutely golden!

A real below normal day? It was a -5 day. People are acting like yesterday was 20 degrees below normal LOL.

Man, get out there and enjoy it folks, mid 40s and sun, textbook met march spring weather..........enjoy the process!  Kids went on a field trip to ski sundown last weekend, man they got absolutely torched by the sun, as all of you skiers know this time of year.

Remember your sun screen if you are working outside!

Just saw it was 16 at ORH, nice and cold up there!

I know but, just trying to make them happy lol, in this changing climate -5 is a big deal........besides I feel the weight of the entire board breathing down my neck! You better love snow and cold at anytime of year, if not tred lightly!  Being over +2 and +3 in some cases mid month is now considered frigid, and people have really lost touch with what March is like, hell it can be BRUTAL!

CONFORM or be canned!

Yesterday was -9 at ORH...and that was with a cheap midnight high of 33F...never got over 30F yesterday afternoon. Avg high is 42F.

But i guess since SW CT was -5 for a departure, that means the rest of us had an average March day too.

March has once again returned as a winter month, after a warm start this block has jammed a vw beetle down the fat lady's gullet.

Unless the storm next week cuts west, there is absolutely nothing to look forward to if you like spring, congrats to all those that hate it, and may you be blessed with feet upon feet of snow.

Enjoy.

Yesterday's departures...

ORH -8

PVD -8

BOS -7

BDL -6

BDR -4

We're splitting hairs.

Well you made a comment on how yesterday wasn't that cold...most people get an impression of the day of how it feels when they are actually out in it. If the afternoon high temps are -10 to -12 or so, then people feel that as a cold day.

BDR wasn't as cold, but most of us live northeast of BDR where the afternoon was well below normal from what you expect this time of the year. That's where the perception of yesterday comes from. Its the same phenomenon where if the low temp is at 2am and is 14 degrees below normal, but then we mix on a SW wind and by daybreak we are near avg low temps and then in the afternoon we spike to +4 highs...people will not say it was a cold day even if the daily comes in at -6 for the day. A cheap 2am low temp doesn't make an impression on most people when a majority of the day was above average.

There is no spring fling, Kevin was right there will not be an above normal day through at least mid April.  Was a nice stretch the last 30 days but, that is now over.  This thread is a complete failure it should be closed, unless you are here in good faith to tell me how wrong I was.

Stay calm, and carry on.

Should lock it up until at least may if it looks like we finally get spring by then and then reopen it
