Gorgeous sunset at our friends house in eastern ny last night...........and this morning, more than half of the record snow evaporated, only got to like 35 but it literally poured off the trees and roofs, also the ground was warm and the snow melted from the bottom up.

It will all be gone today, 9 inches poof.

When is the next snowstorm?

Nice pics Kevin!  Early Sping snows are awesome, enjoy the weekend sunny and 50 perfect for sledding.

Hey, is this snow "fake" wondering why it literally vanished yesterday afternoon under over cast skies and temps only 35, I understand the March sun is strong.  Wonder if it was lake effect like in a way due to the IVT and ocean enhancement?

Daylight savings tomorrow!!!!!!

Well thankfully my area won't be anywhere near 50 until perhaps Monday..but my snow wan't high ratio.Very wet, and heavy even with temps in the upper 20's for much of the storm

Well next weekend looks somewhat interesting. The obvious problem is suppresion I think, but I certainly would keep an eye on it.  It's going to get very chilly for March standards by later next week and we have a piece of the PV that breaks off and spins to our north, along with good blocking into the Davis Straits. Ther blocking isn't the classic shape and orientation, but it is there.

Rocking shorts today, first time all year......sun feels great, about to hose down and wash the deck furniture and get it put out.  I simply can't believe how fast this snow melted, its basically gone, and will be by mid afternoon.  Something fishy about that snow, fake snow.
