showmethesnow
Perhaps our methods of assessment differ somewhat. Beyond that I do not feel the need to explain myself to you. PSU is one of the decent more knowledgeable non-mets on this board who goes out of his way quite often to help explain things to those of us that do not understand. To have you cop an attitude with him because he had the audacity to ask why you felt a suppressive high would be beneficial is just plain ridiculous when I am sure most of the posters on this board wondered the same exact thing including myself. TUweathermanDD
This post told him absolutely nothing. Your analysis of the surfacw features is essentially lacking scientific background, the simple truth lies in PSU's post, the base is too far east and we lack a negative tilt to bring it back enough. Thus, your reasoning about the storm going west because of no high is not only incorrect in this instance, but in more instances than not. Next time, it won't hurt to explain yourself. Knowledgeable people are here to teach something... If thats the demographic you are supposed to fall into. Showmethesnow, exactly.

adelphi_sky
My skies are still blue and I got up to 59.2 today. I'm waiting for my rain. I was surprised at how warm it was today. I didn't need a jacket! This certainly doesn't help when you're on the cusp of a remote chance of the white stuff.

Jebman
Boston is enjoying a refreshing cool day with sunshine and 49 degrees. You know what they say - Once there are a few patches of bare ground, snowmelt goes to town. Perhaps NOW SNE can finally manage to dig out without assistance LMFAO. needbiggerboat
Perhaps our methods of assessment differ somewhat. Beyond that I do not feel the need to explain myself to you. Perhaps because you've got no substance behind your various "stay positive" statements? I don't have much technical meteorology context, but I know that what you and that dsnowman guy are peddling is crapola.

wxdude64
Snowing nicely per the traffic cam in Monterey County. I have no idea the elevation of that camera though. Somewhere around 3400 foot, Monterey sits at 2900-3000. Rt 250 when it crosses the state line a little further west is + - 4400 foot. You were talking about the camera on RT 250 west of Monterey in HIGHLAND county, right?

Hank Scorpio
LWX has 1-2" for my area tonight Should be interesting to see if that verifies. WEATHER53
Low still looks like it want to wrap up quickly and without the clockwise influence of a suppressive high there is still a chance. Lows do move to our south but they really don't move south. They move east-ene and out to sea albeit to our south. At times they do this due to the exertions of high pressure pressing down upon the low. This has been my experince in over 40 years of detailed observations. If you have a different opinion about this then perhaps share it in a manner that does not warrant being in off topic/political.
