Fatal blow for your area. I think as always it just comes down to rates. Heavy rates will always win out.

With the rates I had it need to be like 25 for it to stick given it was daytime and had been warm.  It wasn't really close...it never stuck and then melted here, it just melted on contact the entire day.

So is the backside for us in the Triangle?...

It looks like it to me. Looks like Cary is getting it good, but once that line moves through, I don't see anything developing back to the west that would move into the area. Someone correct me if I'm wrong and we're supposed to have further development. If we are, I don't see any sign of it.

Well no longer will I make fun of sun angle and soil temps because it proved to be a fatal blow today. If there is another system I hope it is at night.

I will say this, I just went out and measured. There is around 3 inches on a flat surface and just right around 2 on the ground and it's very spotty...so obviously soil temp is an issue there.

Sweet!! Congrats!

I wasn't fast enough to capture the 25 grauple pellets in the brief 30 second shower that rolled threw

Glad to hear you got in on that band moving threw :)

I would have loved nothing better than to have watched it snow all day     :(      I don't feel bad for you   :P

8 hours of snow with no accumulation is like an extended porn-watching session. Sure, you get to see some ******* and there's an orgasm, but it's just not the same as actual sex with an actual woman. The accumulation is the actual woman.

Here NW of High Point I couldn't even get it to stick on the deck or the car.  Oh well, it was pretty to see it falling most of the day and I hit the jackpot on the last system (4") so I'll survive.  Glad to see some people get snow!

You didn't get in on that rogue snow shower around 4 PM at all?  Man, you missed out.

Looks like that band the RAP kept on advertising isn't going to happen.  Oh, well.  That rogue snow shower made it all worth it, though.  I haven't seen snow that heavy during the day in at least five years ... maybe more.

Well, more snow fell today than I expected but my call for 1 to 2 inches ended up being correct imby.  I measured just over an inch earlier in the day.  There's still some snow on the ground but melting.  I do wish it was colder because I could of ended up w/ a good total but overall I can't complain.  It was nice seeing the snow fall all day.

Ended up with 2.25" in Lyman (Spartanburg County) - *most of which is still there.  Intense rates from about 2:00 to 3:45 though, which overwhelmed any surface temp. issues.

It was apparent that the roads melted and dried quickly though.  Sun angle did nothing - especially considering this all fell between 1:30 and 4:00 PM.  This has improved my letter grade for this winter to a solid B+.  I love pulling the blue tongue...

Agree 100%.  Funny thing is, that last band that looked really good, literally got within a mile of my neighborhood and fell apart and reformed a couple of miles on the other side of me.  Oh well.  It was a nice snow.

Walross: Now I'm holding on to hope that Wilmington gets in on the mesolow.... we only with snow for about 90 min, nothing stuck, and i spent most of it indoors doing a project since none of my friends could meet any other time this week!

I was out in it with My pup Walross, I hope you got My PM...   It was nice, abit Windy, watching a *FEW* convective "downburst(s)" of snow. Just as you seen in some of the Video's posted here, Alas, It didn't last long at all,(30 minutes where I was), enough too send our temps crashing...

*If it even "stuck* I think We've recieved about a solid 1/10th inch of SNOW...  As 2/3's of our precipation was cooling the Lower 1-1500K feet of atmoshere at first.. Thus; lets say a TRACE..... (I did get a picture of a few flakes! )

Though it was pretty cool, in a large field, seeing "downburst(s) of Preciption", ( In sheets of heavy Drizzel; Like a T-storm) that were Pure SNOW, then feeling the COLD that was traveling with it.. Coming across from the River, (Brunswick Co.)...

Lets HOPE Our Local AFD holds serve here in the next few hours....  That Piece of Energy that's up around Columbia,SC coming around the BOTTOM of the Trough, comes stright across OUR area(s) giving the forecasted 1" of Snow... Between 8 & 12 PM, (looking at the animation, it looks about right)...

I noticed in the last few frames of a string of Moister from around SAV. trying to connect with that piece of energy also..

Not cliff diving or being Hopefull, it is what it is for ILM, We got *LUCKY* seeing these few flakes today, I'm happy to seen them.

(Being as close to the Coastal BL Layer as WE are!)..

Still Our Temp(s) are @ 34...

Pressure is back rising, (Ouch), 29.81 vs, 29.73 Earlier, DEW of 34/Humidity 100%... Winds 8~12 from the NNE. (Least it's not On-shore)..

OUR lastest AFD says..

Rain mixed with snow continuing...

An area of light rain and snow is slowly moving through the Cape
Fear region... and will exit offshore in the next hour.
Precipitation rates are much lighter than earlier... but light snow
will continue to fall... accumulating up to a trace on grassy and
elevated surfaces. Roadways will remain just wet this evening.

A lull is expected after this area of precipitation moves away... but
more snow is possible later tonight.

THAT WILL stick!

Peace! Dave....
