Now I remember why I spend so much time on these boards! Alright...Good to hear skip!

WidreMann
6 hours of snow now in Carrboro and no snow on the ground at this time to show for it. Mother Nature finds new ways to screw with us. We get a coastal low, solid precip shield and actual snow falling from the sky and yet...no snow accumulation. Amazing.

metwannabe
Snow has started in Greenville. Back edge of that precip band had almost made it to I-95, now seems to have stalled and even bulging westward some.....in response to the trough go negative or the developing slp??? Either way this is a great sign

burgertime
This is my weenie question of the day. Since the sun is out could that enhance instability when these heavy convective snow showers come over head? Could this lead to some thunder snow? CLTwx
YOU JUST BEAT me to that question but I would say yes? This is my weenie question of the day. Since the sun is out could that enhance instability when these heavy convective snow showers come over head? Could this lead to some thunder snow? WidreMann
The RAP wants to show that band in the west slinking ESE into northern SC and far SE NC and just kind of dying as it heads towards the coast. So the storm is, as I suspected, pretty much over. Once these accumulation-free snow showers move out, it's over.
downeastnc
steady snow here now flakes size is small but should be snow from here on out
Southern Track
This is my weenie question of the day. Since the sun is out could that enhance instability when these heavy convective snow showers come over head? Could this lead to some thunder snow? Good question. The sun was out in The Upstate before the snow hit and we had a beautiful clap of thunder along with a heavy band.
calculus1
Here on the Catawba/Alexander County line, we ended up with about an inch in 45 mins. Just flurries now. Amazing how fast it went from nothing to everything white. No thundersnow here, but definitely some incredibly heavy rates. Same totals for me. Roughly an inch in about 45 minutes. Took the kids out to play in it. Built a snowman and had a snowball fight. It's all melting back off now, but light flurries are beginning to fall again now. I'll try to upload some video later. Gray Mills
New to these threads and dont understand half of what is being said, however I am 75 miles east of Burger in the Sandhills. CoolBreeze
I've noticed that it's been getting darker to my west. I just went outside and saw "fog" off in the distance. As I watched, the "fog' got closer and closer, then I started seeing a huge expanse of snow flakes heading towards me like a wall of snow. Then it hit and suddenly it was snowing moderately. It's small flakes right now, but it's definitely the accumulating kind! This is the leading edge of the lee-side trough moving through now. Looking forward to see it snow hard now ! Get ready to the east ! It's coming !!!
Freeze
Sun broke thru here for 15 minutes about 20 minutes ago. Now the sky has darkened considerably as the heavy band approaches from Hickory and Statesville. Temp had been 38 to 39 all day. Sun broke thru and we went up to 44. Since the dark clouds have rolled in 15 minutes ago the temp has fallen 5 degrees. 39 now.
NC Snow
The RAP holding strong for about 0.4-0.5" of qpf for ECG... hopefully it will be accurate. So far only drizzle. It would be nice to see most of this to fall as snow!!
BullCityWx
Ceiling has risen and sky has brightened ahead of this band that's incoming. Almost like a lake effect or upslope band.
