If my amateur eyes are reading the latest RAP run (16z map) correctly, the lee-side trough will be forming in the Foothills around 2-4 pm. It won't be moving through the Triad until about 5-6 pm. IIRC, that is a little slower than expected this morning, which is assume is a good thing.  Gives everyone to the east more time to cool down...

Looks to be quite a good line too, stretching from upstate SC, through NC, and even into SW VA !!!

Yeah, man, it might come through as the sun is setting.  Maybe we can sneak away with some light accumulations after all. That band looks intense. :)

Someone could get very lucky from about 4-9pm it seems, love reading the words "slowly" "bands" and "pivoting" with regards to snow and central/eastern NC. It sounds like Brick maybe in the best spot, as usual.

THE ARRIVAL OF THE STRONG TROUGH DYNAMICS AND RESULTANT COOLING

ALOFT/STEEP LAPSE RATES TO GO ALONG WITH THE CONTINUED DEEP LAYER

FGEN...COULD SUPPORT A BAND OR MULTIPLE BANDS OF HEAVY SNOWFALL

PIVOTING SLOWLY EASTWARD ACROSS CENTRAL AND EASTERN NC. AS MUCH 3 TO

6 INCHES WOULD BE POSSIBLE UNDERNEATH THESE BANDS...

And to those who always talk about it's not going to stick because of ground temps...... well yeah it was in the 60's yesterday and the ground is getting white now.

I think a lot of folks will start seeing the ground whitening up as the afternoon wears on now. We are all loosing the solar radiation negative factor. It's a huge minus when you get into late FEB MARCH. Should really bold well for Wilson Greenville Elizabeth city latter on this evening.

Hope so. It has been really light here the last hour.
