My phone just woke me up, CAE finally issued a WWA for central SC.

It woke me up too   I was quite surprised  ;)

another burst of light snow here.Man, I wish radar looked a little better. It's gonna painful waiting for that band to develop out of nowhere today.

I'll agree with this   I just wanna see something frozen falling from the sky

Guys this isn't the main course. This was actually pretty well predicted by the models. We would have some passing showers and then the real deal comes around noon to six. I think what was not handled well were the temps which only favors us through the day.

Looks pretty good to me for someone....who is the question    http://www.goes.noaa.gov/GSSLOOPS/ecwv.html

RAP is looking good up that way later on, a little worse down here.

You guys actually look pretty good, hopefully we get one that bust to the good for once...lots of potential there for a overachiever and I think you will see totals on the high side of predictions for a lot of folks. MHX going with 1" here today and 1-3" tonight so a solid 2-4" call by them down here, would be thrilled with 4" lol.

RAH essentially punted for RDU, says the flip won't happen until after 7pm and by than the precip will almost be over. Got to love another bust.

This lines up pretty well with the images I posted last night from the Canadian:

The Canadian is not good news for folks further east from RDU.  These maps show mostly rain as the p-type during the event.  Precip reaches Raleigh around 13Z.  Then, it takes a while to progress eastward, but the vast majority of it falls as a mix to rain, if these maps are to be believed.  West of Raleigh appears to do okay on precip type, but volume is really low.

13Z:

21Z:  You do see that local precip maximum show up in the Upstate of SC in this image, though.
