Question?

Can we combine the obs and disco thread for this one?

Leave it pinned, not like traffic is going to be exceptionally high, may help in moving the whole disco forward, rather than going back and forth.  Thoughts...  :snowman:

Yes please. I am not a fan of bouncing between threads. By the way the individual members of the GFS are out. They pretty much shift everything 25-50 miles east compared to 12z. One thing that looks interesting is the local max in SC that looked like it may have been a result of the Lee side trough has also been shifted towards central SC. I'm hoping tha the storm comes together for some in the SE crew. Good luck to everyone!

I miss the days of the superthreads, so go right ahead! :)

Having to go back and forth to read OBS and analysis isn't my preference, anyways.

Great idea. I miss the old days when it was all under one umbrella. But times are different/busier traffic so I understand.

That would be great, I was going to report on the cloud bank that went through Tryon NC, but thought it pertained more to this thread vs. general obs.... getting colder and windy

Temps still falling rapidly in Weaverville. Down to 37.9° & quite windy. Looks like it might be snowing along the spine. Would like to get a obs from 85's place.

Don ha ha just logging on man! Your right we have snow and pretty hard to. Roads are wet and cars are starting to turn white. Temp down to 30 degrees. Snowing at a good clip!

Just got in from cutting the grass(rye). Anyway one big plus is its clear as a bell and 0 wind. So we out to be able to maximize some radiation all cooling for a while. I've had 2 hard freezes the past couple of nights. Got down to 26 last night. Unfortunately hit 60 today. !atleast northeast nc is gonna go above their seasonal average in all likelihood after this one.

We have alot of properties that need mowing and its all fescue not rye. Ground temps have been warm all winter overall

Motion carries, I will merge and update the title accordingly, Marietta, feel free to adjust as you see fit since you were the one who started this whole mess...  ;)

  Love the thread title

CAE has decided to mention the possibility of something frozen falling from the sky

I'm not exactly sure what to be rooting for on the RAP but it does look like it has more energy just south of TN @17 on the latest run.

I'm with you Burger. We have seen more energy, less energy, separate energy, energy further west, north and south. None of it really has changed the surface features very much. The last run it was further west and more interaction but the precip went east. Somebody tell us what to root for!

don't know who to believe, channel 13 news asheville weather says Asheville won't see hardly anything. GSP has all of asheville and hendersonville under wwa and 1-2 inches of snow and the higher mtns. 3-4,,,,SO WHO DO YOU BELIEVE

Definitely NOAA especially when it comes to GSP.

Absolutely. I'm on board with GSP on this winter event. Might even be a nice surprise somewhere nearby.

I would say there is a descent chance for snow from CAE into Central and Eastern NC.  I think its a NO go for the upstate and into GA.  Maybe some flurries/sprinkles....just not gonna happen

Flurries would be a huge deal for GA considering how crappy this winter has been. If I see at least 5 flakes I will consider this winter a success.
