I am impressed...low level forcing/height falls are definitely inline with what the NAM was depicting for a turnover this quick.
brettjrob
Already switched to at least a 50/50 mix in S Norman. Freezing line is substantially closer than modeled (excepting the NAM)... thinking the NW half of the metro may get more than they bargained for, since there were no school closings, etc.

I am guessing a few inches is enough brings things to a halt down there.
Srain
Snow coming down just N of Lubbock in Hale County along I-27... 16 Miles E of TX/NM border along I-40...
baroclinic_instability
The RAP has some pretty nonsensical looking forecast soundings over Norman (a current forecast sounding). Not sure what type of BL params it has, or even why it is trying to depict such a low level adiabatic layer, but this is obviously not verifying. LocoAko
Wound up with a dusting so far on grassy surfaces but it is melting rapidly as we sit at 33F and the precipitation becomes lighter. Definitely made for a cool sight this morning. From the roof of the National Weather Center --

OKpowdah
Low temperatures across OK this morning ... who can point out where the fresh snow cover was?
brettjrob
This one almost makes it too easy because of the color scale: More importantly, this is a great first step toward short-term drought recovery (replenishing soil moisture) before storm season, especially SW OK into a good chunk of the Panhandle. May still squeeze out another 0.1-0.2" tomorrow through melting in the blue areas from the above map.
