Take a look at the radar-the back edge is stopping cold and you can already see perhaps the beginning of the backbuilding which will occur, as the northern vort and energy catches up to our storm. Watch for the radar west of us to start filling in quite a bit this evening as the phase finally occurs. Heavy snow could make it down to Philly for a time, but it will be short lived down there. There will likely be a very stark difference between the Philly area and ours by morning.

The reverse of exactly 3 years ago to a couple of days.

Yep-I feel bad for those guys southwest of Trenton. Hopefully the incoming northern energy can pound away for a couple of hours there.

And "reverse" would be 2 feet of snow for me and 2" down there-probably not happening.

If rain rate is really 1"/hr on LI or anywhere and it turns to snow at that QPF rate with a ratio of just 10 to 1, would there really be 10" of new snow in just one hour!   Never heard of such a rate of snow---would squeeze air out of the way and you would not be able to breathe!    I believe 5/hr. " is tops in the great storms.   Can a Met explain?
