Absolutely gorgeous Steve, the gradients with this storm are amazing...........truly incredible! Family and friends from Norwalk and Darien think I live on another planet after viewing my pics, I saw what you were getting into last night, I was humbled by what happened here from 11 pm on.

Happy Birthday.  And many many many more.

The damage in the area is pretty spectacular.

Houses along the water are covered in ice and sand.  Trees are down all over.  On peoples cars, in their yards, wires are hanging down all over the place.  The lines at the only station with power and fuel in the area are enormous.  As I drove by there were people yelling and screaming at one another for position in a line 50-100 cars long.

Along 3a there were a few abandoned cars.  Looks like they're getting those cleaned up.  There are others totally buried as pictured.  Every wire, limb, tree, bush, house is covered in ice and snow.

There's a very sharp gradient just a mile or two to the west where the band did not hit today.  Snow here is over the hydrants.

This is enormously heavy wet snow in the bottom 1/3.  Makes for huge snowbanks. 5'+

The driveway is a solid 20" of snow.  It was cleared 3-4" of mud snow last night.  In the woods the snow is about up to my knee.

Pictures from top to bottom.  Cars buried off of 3a.   A house on the beach plastered in ice and sand.  Local shops with big drifts, the sunset shot is the gas station line.  Notice how long it goes.  etc etc.

snowman21 what news station was calling for nuisance snow? lol

You know which one and he posts here, though infrequently, so you can take it up with him if you really feel the need to rub it in. Anyway, we missed out on the crush job (ended up with 15 inches) most others in the state received, but I'm certainly happy to triple my seasonal total in one storm.

Beautiful everyone. Midlothian I love those shots of Boston especially. What a blast that must have been walking around the city... glad you came up.

Thanks man. It was a blast, both literally and figuratively! I'm hoping that when I get the video clips from Saturday morning off my camera they show the true nature of this beast. People were literally hiding in entryways of buildings, huddled together and crying. Not sure I've ever seen anything like it.

Boston is such a unique city. No place I'd rather be for the big one. Saw some really cool things over the past 24 hours for sure.

A few more shots worth sharing.  A construction guy down the road was nice enough to clear my road enough to get a single car by with his Cat, otherwise the town would not have touched it yet.  Once the town does get to me, I think they will need a grader or payloader to widen it out.  Tunnels will be formed once they do widen, mailmen and garbage men may find new careers next week :)
