Hey now...it was only because everyone seemed to have a love affair with the euro and claimed that they would for some reason leave the forum if the euro cut amounts in any way for the NYC area....true story ! JSantanaNYC
Why no one mentions that euro ensembles have been always more west than the operational for this storm.. are they reliable ?

Pitmaster
As an avid snowstorm fan and casual reader of this forum, I just want to thank you guys for all the model analysis and great info you guys provide. This is the only place I go to for my winter weather forecasts. And regardless of how much or how little snow falls its great to know I'm not the only psychotic snow lover lol So here's to hoping we all enjoy a great storm- at the end of the day the weather will do what it's going to do. Aside from that the "politics" in the forum can be a good source of entertainment as well. Keep up the good work gentleman - it's appreciated by this guy. winterwarlock
it does cut totals back down in NJ pretty good....Trenton maybe only down to 6 from what it was on the 12z run?
ag3
Here's some select areas text sounding qpf and my opinion: 1.71" for LGA. (Maybe .25" is a mix or wet snow) 1.94' for JFK. (75" of it is mix/rain or wet snow) 2.47" for BDR. (All snow) 2.85" for ISP. (About .90" is lost to mix/rain or wet snow) 1.50" for EWR. (Maybe .24" is a mix/rain or wet snow) .68" for ABE. (All snow) 2.39" for BOS. (All snow) .88" for PHL (about .30" or so lost to rain/mix or wet snow)
leemhoc
With cold, snow starts in morning hours, possible accumulations. Snow showers commence at 4 to 5 while moderate snow starts at 830 ish and could be sooner based on relative quickness of southern moisture
dbc
yup - across the board from the city east is between 12-18" and West of the city is a bit less... 12-18 seems the safe call considering all the guidance. Considering other hi-res guidance 18-24 west to east is a reasonable call as well.
Sock Puppet
12-18 is obviously nothing compared to all the snow we got the past two winters What's wrong with a 12-18 inch snowstorm? lol

NJHurricane
1.75" liquid, what a bore. I'm sure between such a massive cutback and the gfs we can soon cancel the blizzard warnings (that was a joke) seriously that WRF....with the band pushing west then crawling back east for two rakings of most of NNJ and NYC...yummy

RUNNAWAYICEBERG
No map...maybe if I get a few more requests ill make one though and I've been thinking these amounts for the past 24 hours or so...I think some of my negative posts about certain model runs made it seem as if I was banking on 30-40" or something im sure I can get a petition going as we all value your input. a map would do your ideas justice. ag3
Euro still advertises qpf maximum in the ISP to FRG area for the storm. More then Boston. Like 12z. Boston has colder temps though and sees close to 30" on the euro.
