Damage In Tolland
This is pretty insane to see the NAM continuing to pump out these totals. Usually by now it decreases totals. Today it actually continues to ramp them up...I mean you have to scratch your head
dryslot
NAM gets some of the really good "stuff" a bit more north than 12z for NNE. We get more love as the low is further NE
moneypitmike
can someone post the link to the box maps? I can never find them on the site. Thanks in advance! It's from the headline on the BOX homepage--just click on the headline. NAM has close to 2.5'' of QPF in just 12-HR for much of eastern MA with close to 2'' all the way back to NYC EDIT: The 2'' goes back to like central CT then it's 1-1.50'' back to NYC it looks like but hard to tell b/c looking at national view Don't forget the qpf that had already fallen prior to the model Had to post the 24h snow image from the 18z NAM. 18znamsnow_NE024.gif Most funny thing I've seen in a while! 21.0/19, sn
Bruinsyear
Yeah - they don't make it easy. Easiest way to find them. Go to the main BOX site and then find a heading above the map that's in all caps "LOTS OF SNOW". Click on it. Also - its usually the same link: http://www.erh.noaa.gov/box/StormTotalSnow/index.php# Much appreciated!

OKpowdah
The banding intensifying south of Long Island right now is reminiscent of January 26-27, 2011 ... only with this storm, it sticks around for about twice as long, and intensifies as the system phases and the bottom drops out of the mid level low
mattmfm
iirc, the old nam (eta) nailed jan '05 Actually was going to ask yesterday but forgot, does anyone have saved QPF from prior to jan '05?

Bostonseminole
Can the NAM be even close to correct? I mean usually it starts cutting totals this close in yeah, at what point do we stop saying it's the nam? at 3 hrs? lol
shawnmov
Not sure who if anybody knows the retention of data on this board, but somebody should save some of these graphics. weathafella
All this worrying ...lol Pickles, I told you BOS wouldn't flip. Temp spiked at 34 this am and now 32/30 with mdt snow. Wen Harvey is this excited, take notice. He is the most accurate of the tv mets in our area and perhaps the nation. Has forecasted the 78 storm correctly. Snow starting to pile up now and the cf hasn't even gone east of me yet. I'm pretty sure I get >20.....maybe up to near 30.
sankaty
Had to post the 24h snow image from the 18z NAM. 18znamsnow_NE024.gif Disappointed that with 35-40", we wouldn't surpass our 50" from the Blizzard of 1888. Oh well.
moneypitmike
Long live GC!!!! A MORE MID-LVL BANDING SETUP APPEARS LIKELY FROM THE SOUTHERN HUDSONRIVER VALLEY ACROSS W MA TOWARDS THE SHORELINE OF MAINE. COULD BESOME LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ALONG THE E SLOPES OF THE BERKSHIRES. ORH_wxman
Do the measure in each midnight to midnight period? If that's the case, I bet no. They can still set it if Logan gives any measurement inside of 24 hours that is greater than April 1997's 25.4" I'm wondering if this is going to rival 1997 for the 12 hour snowfall we had between about 7pm on the 31st and 7am on the 1st.
