Clinch Leatherwood
Neither to be honest. The NAM is a huge huge hit. What would you do if you were forecasting for NJ? Yikes. Epic blizzard or just a snow event.....NAM says get out the heavy equipment, devastating snows for the whole state.
40/70 Benchmark
Wow, the NAM is going to be better than 18z for a lot of places it seems lol Not here

charleskoz
The NAM is definitely west from 18z.. and holy cow, what a ton of snow for the NYC area compared to the other models. This shall be quite interesting to see how it plays out.
Clinch Leatherwood
Uhhhhh... gotta think nam west outlier and alone on a ledge. Likely over amped. boy..what a miserable forecast for the people down there. It looked like it was going to run further east initially, convection fires off in a major way and the low just tracks along with it pretty close to the VA/DE/NJ coast before it bends back out. I don't know how we can say toss it to be honest. No way of knowing yet.
Sey-Mour Snow
what? How? It's about to absolutely annihilate CT and MA lol lol all relative.. I mean "heaviest qpf" we all see heavy snow.. but the heaviest band on this nam is west of us.. lol we still get 30"+ but areas just west get 4-5" qpf lol just crazy.. im not complaining.. i love our spot.. Patrick-02540
I don't know, it looked good coming off the coast of VA, then it runs pretty well west as the convection explodes before looping more to the east. That riding left to along the DE/NJ coast has it left the rest of the time. NJ would likely get crushed? Looks like the surface low centered about 30 miles s/e of nantucket at 30?? Mr Torchey
You do ping for a bit but yeah it's a crush job. total crush job, we all know you at least have to smell the pingers for a bit to get the best snows in these set ups....................just classic crush, classic. SnowGoose69
I toss that without more support. I mean nyc peeps your pretty warm too you should be rooting a little east There is no way there will be any sort of mid level or surface warm layer if that scenario played out uinless we're talking before 18Z, the NAM at 00Z shows N-NE winds with the 700 and 850 lows 100 miles to the SE and thinks its going to be raining over CT LI and NYC...never. CTWeatherFreak
Neither to be honest. The NAM is a huge huge hit. But IF the NAM is to have any use whatsoever, isnt it in this time frame? If not now, when?
40/70 Benchmark
The RPM model has actually been pretty good this season......I remember that it nailed the event ON 12/26-27 when it rained on eastern MA. Almost 4' in KLWM LOL
