It's a wild pattern we are in. MJO induced

Yeah, plus both the ST and Polar Jets (especially the latter, which was not happening last year at this time) are cranking. That incredibly dynamic system that led to the severe outbreak on the 29th/30th was a good example.

What exactly do u do when you have over 30" of snow, what's the recovery period.

Not much recovery period if we get hit Valentine's Day or President's Day with those systems...We have a good shot at another MECS/HECS.

Anyway, still crushing snowfall rates here in Southern Westchester:

+SN

24.7/24

Total Snowfall: 15.25"

I think we're good for at least another inch here in Dobbs Ferry as another moderate band has formed on top of me, and there's some lighter stuff heading SSE from just west of Poughkeepsie with 15-20dbz echoes, so still steady accumulating snow. Ratios are very high this late in the storm. That's why there's no reason to panic when you don't jackpot early: it's the high-ratio part of the CCB that boosts totals rapidly, especially late at night with dropping temperatures.
