I work in Manasquan but live in Point Pleasant and the snows are always so different between the two. I have about 3-4" in Point but am wondering what there is at work. viking70
In the last hour had 1 3/4 inches out of that band. Up to probably 11 inches now. Hard to tell. 13 inches on last predicted update by Upton may be right by the end of this. I'll take it since earlier it seemed I may have only 10 inches when all was said and done. RU848789
lol, good visual - where on 35? If you only got 3" in Feb-10, I'm guessing you're up near Rahway, since the gradient was so sharp from N to S and yes, we did get 6" in Metuchen for that storm, which was better than the 0" they got in Manhattan - most amazing gradient I've ever seen - from 0" in NYC to 28" in Philly, over just about 90 miles. It's been ripping snow for the past 3 hours and we're up to about 6" total for the storm and looking at the solid radar, I think we'll get another 2-4", which would bring us into the 8-12" range I was calling for. My wife and I also made it out to Hailey's Pub in Metuchen for a couple of drinks - nice time out, especially since I love going out when it's snowing, especially if I can see the snow falling from where I'm sitting and we could from the bar. We also walked around a bit after getting home, as it was just so damn beautiful outside. Best snow in at least 2 years. Went out around 1:00 pm to shovel and it took me about 90 minutes and by the time I was done, there was another 2.5" where I had shoveled! My measurement at 2:30 am (average of several and there's little wind, so it's pretty accurate) was 9.0", so we made it to the 8-12" range I was calling for, which makes me happy for the call, but moreso, because we got this gorgeous, light, fluffy, highly crystalline, low moisture content snow. Some of the heaviest snow I've seen in awhile with true 1/4 mile visibility for the last 30 minutes I was out there (in the last 30 minutes an inch fell). We should be able to get to 10", at least, judging by the radar and with a little luck what looks like our last good band will train over us for an hour or two and get us to 12"! Would love it...
