NYCSuburbs
I am LITERALLY watching snow accumulate! I second this... this band is epic. Very low visibility with snow absolutely pouring. Never saw it snow this heavy with the three 2010-11 blizzards...
BL03
wow wow wow hammering here on SI. Great band of heavy big flaked snow!
SACRUS
But its south of NY . also the wave is collapsing the precip shield around nYC both east & west, look at this radar http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/ You can see it north of NW NJ as well. Light stuff but more none the less.

nzucker
It looks as if we may get more of those smaller zig-zag bands coming into the NYC area, directly from the north. The flow seems to be following a nnw to sse route, hence we may see additional accumulations behind this incoming band. The weakening western side of the storm wont matter much if the low stays stalled and the flow of still relevant mini-bands keep coming in from the nnw. What are your thoughts on this? I agree about some backbuilding; it will continue to snow lightly for 1-2 more hours, but major accumulations are probably finished after this intense band. I would think the backbuilding only adds 1-1.5" at most for the majority of posters.

RutgersWx92
About 7.5'' or so here. That band that just came through was just incredible, one of the heaviest snow rates I have ever seen. That alone made me happy with this storm.

NYCSuburbs
That was incredible... winding down here, was definitely better than the 10-11 blizzards and even 2006... easily picked up a bit over an inch, don't know exactly how much. That just made this storm memorable for me even though the heaviest snows were well NE of the area. Measured close to 11.5" or so, 1/2 hour before the band I was at 10".
