The storm is coming to an end, and it looks like NYC will finish around 10", NNJ/Westchester with around 15", and North Shore LI and Southern CT with 24-30". This was a slightly bigger gradient than advertised, but I wouldn't exactly say it was a bust. Certainly, the blizzard conditions and 2' snowfall amounts didn't materialize for the City proper, but we came pretty close. Having a sloppy phase and a marginal boundary layer didn't help as we lost about .5" liquid that fell as snow in Westchester and Connecticut to rain within the 5 boroughs.

We'll see exactly where amounts end up...if this big band stalls and we get lingering snows until 5am, then we may have over a foot for most of the 5 boroughs. I could approach 18" if I pick up another few hours of snows. We'll see if anything develops behind this.

It looks as if we may get more of those smaller zig-zag bands coming into the NYC area, directly from the north. The flow seems to be following a nnw to sse route, hence we may see additional accumulations behind this incoming band. The weakening western side of the storm wont matter much if the low stays stalled and the flow of still relevant mini-bands keep coming in from the nnw. What are your thoughts on this?

That band means serious business...Hope it holds together and passes the queens border into nassau and gets caught in traffic for four hours

I think it will clear thinks out pretty quickly.

My final measurement for the night is almost 15".

Night all.
