Superstorm93
Probably close to 15" I can't even express what I'm seeing. AND the snake band is about to hit us!
Storm At Sea
I have not seen snow this heavy since I was stuck on I-90 in Buffalo 2 years ago when we received 100 inches on the Thruway over a 4 day span.
Meteoropoulos
That deformation band is widening and slowing down just in time as it approaches NYC! If that lasts an hour at those rates, we could add 3 inches to CPK totals giving it a great night, despite the slopfest that went on during the day. NorthNJwx
I'm under the crazy band right now. Snowfall rates have to be 2-3"/hr. The volume of snowflakes in the air is incredible. For those in the path of this band (hopefully everyone to my east), stay up and watch this thing come through! It's worth it.

winterwx21
How unreal? It was off the charts. Probably dropped an inch in less than 15 minutes. Now it's getting lighter. Storm just about over for northern Middlesex county. Gonna go out and measure shortly.
Meteoropoulos
4? That's wrong. I live near there and I got way more than that lol. JFK ALWAYS is mysteriously undermeasuring their snow totals. They must be taking their measurements on a frying pan.

jm1220
Snow is almost as heavy as it's been all night despite lighter echos locally in Nassau. I'm thinking we make it to a foot-I'd say we're closing on 8" now.

IntenseBlizzard2014
That expanding band near NE NJ is heading towards me at Southern Westchester County.
nzucker
The storm is coming to an end, and it looks like NYC will finish around 10", NNJ/Westchester with around 15", and North Shore LI and Southern CT with 24-30". This was a slightly bigger gradient than advertised, but I wouldn't exactly say it was a bust. Certainly, the blizzard conditions and 2' snowfall amounts didn't materialize for the City proper, but we came pretty close. Having a sloppy phase and a marginal boundary layer didn't help as we lost about .5" liquid that fell as snow in Westchester and Connecticut to rain within the 5 boroughs. We'll see exactly where amounts end up...if this big band stalls and we get lingering snows until 5am, then we may have over a foot for most of the 5 boroughs. I could approach 18" if I pick up another few hours of snows. We'll see if anything develops behind this.

viking70
Getting hard to tell what my total is. Wind has been gusting a lot recently. I would estimate that I am up to 9 inches now with drifts up to 11 inches. Cleared my board. want to see what gets picked up if the heavy band to my west hits me.
