Heard on the Weather channel over 500,000 homes without power in New England. Most of them in Rhode Island and SE Mass.

Just got back a little while ago from a walk in the storm around College Point between 25th Rd and 22nd Ave. Absolute rip city the whole time, visibility down to 1/8 mile or less at times. Could barely see some of the lights at LGA across Flushing Bay. Measured 4" from 11pm-1am, for an 8" total so far. Drifts down by the water are up to around 1.5' to 2'. Still pouring down snow out there. Even though we won't get the extreme amounts like LI, CT and southern New England, still an impressive storm. Could see us making a run for 1' here.

For the east coast of Mass, this could be their Sandy. Hopefully the tides and destructiveness don't work out the way they did for us.

Another note, a tree next door to me that was damaged and keeled over after Sandy came down.
