loadletterpaper
The banding setting up and intensifying along the Sunken Meadow / Sag from north to south shore looks wildly impressive.

Superstorm93
And the non-believers are now reporting near-blizzard conditions. Ultimate irony.

Cyg
4 inches so far here with moderate to heavy snowfall. I'd guess it ends up being 6 here unless things really ramp up.
NYR99
Farmingville, NY here. This is my full grown husky in my backyard, standing up. Easily about 16" of snow in my backyard. More on my deck due to it blowing off my roof.

I know its not 10-15 but you'll break 6 for sure maybe 8 if you're lucky. I think jm will be closer to 10 slightly east of you
TWCCraig
That band north of the LIE coming right for me. Could be a 4" per hour band.

jm1220
Between 3-4" outside now, coming down very heavy. Still thinking generally 6-8" for my backyard, shot at 10" if the banding keeps up. Looks like it could be dying out a little and consolidating east of here. Without a doubt northern Suffolk should have 30" amounts. Crazy how the differences will be felt in such a short distance. PB GFI
The band in NWNJ has back filled a bit. It's a potential 2 hour period of 2 inch per hour for us in Monmouth county Heavy. Snow here.

hooralph
Definitely the heaviest it has been all night. I'd say we are close to 1/4 mile visibility, but seeing very little wind.
NorthNJwx
Everyone's going hog wild with reports of blizzard conditions. Ya'll know you need gusts to 35 mph for that, right? No one is getting that in NYC metro right now. This. It's certainly an impressive and dynamic snowstorm, but it takes a rare beast to provide enough snow and wind to verify the B word. In the past 20 years, NYC Metro blizzards are limited to 1993, 1996, and Dec 2010 - and I'm not sure about 1993. This, of course, does not take anything away from the current storm. coastalplainsnowman
It is incredible how regardless of how things have varied in the surrounding areas that the heavy stuff has remained absolutely consistently over the same area in northshore LI. Have not been looking at the NE thread. Could this area of LI end up being the overall jackpot? I'm in SE Nassau so this is just out of curiosity for me.
