Northshore Blizzard
Medford, NY Lights flickering, just measured measured 8 inches. BTW, about 20 minutes ago, we have a friend who's a Suffolk Co. Police dispatcher who told us that on North Ocean Ave between Horseblock and 25, over 200 cars are stuck. The next 12 hours are going to be amazing.

ebwx
Outside with the kids for the past half hour, no precip for the most part. Maybe 1" at most, coating of snow on some sleet in East Brunswick
WintersGrasp
Hah wow look at that...precip expanding westward from Long Island and building into NYC and hopefully NE NJ now

96blizz
There's a deform band coming, but after some of the runs we saw, this is, with little doubt, the most disappointing snowstorm I can remember. On to the next one... Last night the NAM puked 45" here and I thought, "Cut it in half and it's going to be nuts." Cut that by 1/6. Rough. That said, it kicks the snot out of last winter!! WintersGrasp
There has got to be at least 10 inches on the ground...I stepped outside for 5 minutes and its incredibly disorienting with the blowing snow and massive snowflakes Jesus man where r u?? Near commack ??
Superstorm93
About seven inches here now. Snow is kicking back up now. Sent from Tapatalk
SnowGoose69
Have to watch NYC/Queens/Bklyn closely here, that western band is clearly trying to break off on its own, a subsidence zone now evident near Cold spring Harbor stretching down to Amityville as the two bands are seperating. IsentropicLift
The radar out of Mt. Holly really does look promising, the band in eastern PA is continuing to organize. I think patience will go a long way tonight.

Nikolai
It's beautiful on radar, Manhattan was so close to getting dry-slotted. I was outside about half an hour ago and I would guess we had 2-3". As the temperatures drop we should finally begin to see more 'real' snow rather than the crap that's been falling all day. Though we've been mainly snow, ratios have been awful. I still think NYC will see 12"+.
IsentropicLift
The band of slightly heavier echoes stretching from WRN Fairfeld/Ern Westchester down across Nassau/Queens is ever so slightly trying to pivot west. I noticed that too, hopefully it's going to consolidate soon to one mega band right over NJ and NY.

tmagan
It was possible to envision heavy snows in Suffolk, but not this random sporadic mixing The last time I saw this was the Yankee Stadium storm of 1996.

jm1220
Highly doubt the dry slot makes it any more east.

IsentropicLift
What would be amazing is if that deform band filled in over NJ and eastern PA completely, giving the Philly crowd a nice dump, which of course would help us up here too.

Chris L
What would be amazing is if that deform band filled in over NJ and eastern PA completely, giving the Philly crowd a nice dump, which of course would help us up here too. IF that happens, then we'd get what the NAM showed..... imagine that?

West Milford Highlander
I am in Wayne and unless someone is measuring some sort of drift there is no way they have 12". I just went outside to measure and it's about 6.75" No way Wayne has 12 - a historic 3.5 on west Milford - got to love the hype
