green tube
Steady snow. Closing in on 2 probably half that here. what's your call for a total?
ace0927
Starting to really think that we end up getting relatively jipped with the event unless we really make up for it later with the banding. The changeover line just has not moved in an hour and a half. Infuriating almost. we are likely to get the shaft here...too much wasted QPF and the real heavy panel on the NAM is the area that just missed out to the east - 4-6"
tmagan
I hope people weren't thinking that red band on Long Island was 8"of snow/hour rates.

mgerb
Its not street lights. I don't live in a city. Someone else I see posted it too close to this area. He said pinkish though. I'm sure it has to do with the lack of snow to our west and sunset (though probably still through cloudy skies) piercing through.

I saw it too. It was pretty cool how the sky looked orange/pink for a little while. Anyway, about 2 inches here now. Hoping we can get to 10 tonight. jm1220
Back to sleet in Farmingdale..major problems on the south shore with this system This is just crazy that at this stage warm air is actually ADVANCING again. I guess the meso models were onto something with the warm nose that fought its way back in. Still thinking we make it to 12" but every hour we keep this warm nose it gets more likely we end up getting relatively in a shaft zone.
Dark Star
Saw the same thing, weird orange/pink hue. Is this the back edge of the coastal as it pulls away? Will all we be left with is the remains of the storm from the west? No blizzard or 2" snowfall rates?

Zir0b
probably half that here. what's your call for a total? I'm thinking Middlesex county will range from 3" in the extreme southwest corner to 10" in the extreme northeast corner
KEITH L.I
around 6 inches here and snowing heavily. incredible..an inch here with sleet and 5 miles away 6 inches..looks like this is not the storm for the South Shore..
