Surface temps are running 3- 5 degrees below the forecast around the area , so the BL is  right there , 850s start to retreat by mid to late afternoon  If you are snowing by 4 or 5 pm , the NAM prints out 1.50 for the city and Long Island after that so  you will be fine  .

Sleet-Snow-Rain, in order of dominance of precip, falling now. I'd say 50% sleet, 30% snow, 20% rain. Still getting bursts of almost all flakes followed by short periods of all rain/sleet. about half an inch of snow on the ground, but rapidly becoming slushy.

More like 1.10" for the city.

29 with light to moderate snow

Surprised to see Wayne and most other school districts are only having an early release. Most schools in Sussex County closed for the day.

I agree. I think they thought that there would be a period of rain or at least a mix around here, but that hasn't happened yet.
