In New Brunswick, it's ripping at about 1.5 in/hr. This is type of deformation banding where you lay down 8-12 inches in no time much like the 12/31/00 storm.

Very distinct bands over NJ associated with the old primary

VVEL and snow ratios will allow 2-3"/hr rates

exactly. Which is why some are going to be VERY surprised when they wake up tomorrow morning. A lot of people calling bust too before it played out, which isn't exactly surprising.

Oh yeah. This reminds me a lot of 12/31/00

I think CNJ will luck out big time with these bands.

The band that is slicing through Passaic and Morris Counties is right over me. I can confirm that the snow is moderate to heavy.

We really could have another 6 hours of this hear, most of the short range models have the precip ending from northwest to southeast

The snow will likely die down from north to south as the forcing shifts east overnight. This won't pull out from west to east as most storms do. I remember Boxing Day 2010 ending the same way here.

They'll never learn. Anyway, heavy snow continues near New Brunswick. Probably around 5" or so.
