stormtrackertf
Is the 0.54" of precip at Bridgeport, CT last hour legit? Holy crap.
SlantStickers Anonymous
Lol just went to check, like a 3 foot drift holding the front door shut, 2 feet right up against the sliding door and drifts twice that size on the porch and in the driveway. My street has been untouched for hours and there is no road to speak of anymore, all snow.
ChrisM
I must be getting 2-3"+ an hour right now. This is nuts, and this band is intensifying right over my head and probably will not move for HOURS. WOW.
sankaty
Connecticut is getting crushed. Middletown looks like an epicenter. Look forward to more pix and reports! Thanks everyone. We've been a snow magnet this year. Even before this storm, we somehow racked up 30" for the season in this mediocre winter.
N. OF PIKE
CT band just keeps going and in SW ct they must have 30 inches in spots maybe SW of HFD like waterbury / shelton.i dunno somewhere over "there". where the grinch is
Patrick-02540
I wish the TWC would tell us more of what's happening in Connecticut (or anywhere outside Mass.). Thank goodness for this site. No, TWC is as good with weather as the Discovery Channel is with science in general, as was its original purpose. It's all drama now. There is no material. But maybe that's because most couldn't care less. Maybe TWC thought Boston was where the real storm would happen???

weatherwiz
Hey the other guy may be high. A deck or patio next to a house is a BAD spot to measure. Heck I got 3 feet from roof blow off next to the house. Certainly possible but Ryan was estimating about 20'' here as well. I'm going to take a walk up the road in 52 minutes b/c I may be able to get a better spot. Last time I did was was Jan 12th and I almost got hit by a plow. Mr. Windcredible!
Despite what some will tell you, we have 6-8 weeks left here. Groundhog be wrong? Blasphemy! Plenty of 24" reports NBC CT's Facebook. People are gonna make a run at 3'. I don't expect to get out of my driveway tomorrow. I shoveled a bit earlier, but still... 40/70 Benchmark
Looks to be about 15"...tough to measure with drifting. Ranges from 12-18". Not coming down too heavily but conditions are ferocious. 15.8/
dendrite
Anybody doing water equivalent? My last snow core was off the charts, it was a good sample but it makes me nervous.I am...I did 2 cores with roughly an 8.5" sample. First was 0.92" and the 2nd was 0.88". The drifting is killing ratios here. It's like sugar.

CoastalWx
And yet, KBOS still reporting 3/4 mile visibility. Only one obs of 1/4 mile the whole event so far, even with winds gusting over 50 mph, heavy snow and temps near 20F. Try explaining that this thing doesn't meet blizzard criteria according to KBOS obs. Strange.
