Just had a .5 second power outage here; ayer, but probably just in my part of town.  Don't want to measure because my feet are cold, but probably 8.5".  Obviously others are ignoring this because they're talking 20" already, but this has been one of the most ferocious 9" lay downs I can remember.

Boston should be getting hit hard right now, large band of 25-30 dbz moving though, more coming in off the water.

Meanwhile, West-Central CT, that thing is cranking again.

I recall earlier maps showing the CT River Valley in CT getting <16"....  Oops.  Looks like New Haven to Middletown to Manchester to Tolland to Stafford getting crushed.

House is creaking. Anyone else notice how dark it seems, even with all of my outdoor lights on..., Snow absorbing light?

The domains of the masses are rising from their foundations upon the winds and gravity waves.  The light of man is absorbed by the wings of moisture, feet of frozen crystals douse the landscape, and our precious youth starve but for the drop of their mothers' dwindling teat.  And we are left to dry up and to contemplate this one thought: what we asketh of the Lord, we hath received.

Whether you get 3" or 3' it is a hell of a storm if you are caught in it either way.

Any idea how much Ray has?

The first 4-5" were easy to measure here.  Measuring the stuff falling now with 60+ mph gusts....

Anyway, radar still weak down here, should get better quickly the next few hours.  My turn to sleep for a few hours.  Taking shifts with the fire going, days and days without power.  Good times.

I give up on measuring on this storm...just coming in way too low.  Just no way I will ever be able to measure accurately here.  I always come in too low.

I feel the same way dude.  I live in the woods...everywhere is sheltered by woods or too close to the house. I can get decent measurements in calm events...but these kind of events I guarantee I'll be lower than every surrounding report by at least a few inches. I figure if I'm getting 18" now...reality is probably closer to 20"
