weatherwiz
Congrats. The band is sitting over both of us right now, and hopefully decides to stay awhile. I hope it stays for several hours b/c if it does I should make a run for 24''...you can see on radar too a great deal of inflow getting drawn into this band which should help keep it going for a while and perhaps even intensify it at times. mattb65
Just getting completely crushed SN++ Just went out and measured and it was tough to get an accurate measurement but my best guess is 10.5" which makes an average of almost 2" per hour over the last 5 hours lol.. millpondwx
Noyes thinks maybe a g wave triggered gust at BOS It looks like it was associated with the passage of the coastal front. If anyone has access to it, check out the hires base velocity loop. You can clearly see the coastal front from just east of boston down southwest through RI. The VEL data shows the the passage is preceded by stronger winds.

leesun
Paul, do you have any snowfall reports up this way. I look at BDL obs and they do not match up to what I have just 5 miles east. WOW 50mph gust just now
JJBASHB
Able to get a measurement? I'm going to go out in a little bit but it will be tough to measure. My usual snowboard (stand alone back deck) looks to have anywhere from a foot to 3-4 inches. I'd guess we are about 7-8". Could double that by 1am at this rate. mattmfm
Not discussed as much, it's absolutely freezing out. Wind chills below zero for most of SNE.
OceanStWx
Guys, these ASOS with freeze up will give fake wind values. That BED one is completely tossed. Sustained 16 kt gusting into the 60s? No way. BOS is a little closer, but I would like to see other obs nearby jumping that high.

Cloudsncontrails
It's going to be interesting how this stacks up against the Blizzard of '78. It will be no where as bad in terms of the wind, but in terms of snowfall and how widespread the heavy snow is. Incredible.
radarman
I hope it stays for several hours b/c if it does I should make a run for 24''...you can see on radar too a great deal of inflow getting drawn into this band which should help keep it going for a while and perhaps even intensify it at times. You're looking solid. Up here though the back edge of the band is getting close with a nasty radar hole behind it. I'd sign for a foot... should be close. Good luck everybody. Up super early for some killer skiing tomorrow.

Terpeast
Not sure why NWS changed the wording from "around 2 ft" to 18-24" for SNE. Personally think 20-34" will be the final totals where the heavy banding was tonight. If you were at 15" or so at 9-10 pm, you should get over 30.
