What's amazing about that 66kts is that it happened on the west side of the CF...

CF is crashing S... Even Westerly RI just went N!  temp crashed to 27 down there.

This is likely the main bombing phase of the cyclone drawing the wind cross-isobaric

Hey all, greetings from the Mid Atlantic forum (the region I'm from, DC area)!  Just stopping by to check some of the live reports up there.  Amazing event!!  Even though we're missing out down this way, it's exciting to see all the updates for a historic storm.  Reminds me of the Feb. 5-6, 2010 storm here, except you're getting much worse in the way of winds (sounds really bad, 50+MPH gusts).  That low must have bombed out even more than the models were indicating.  It's even quite gusty in the DC area.

Hope you all stay safe, and enjoy!  Get lots of measurements and pictures, archive all the model and other forecasts, this is one to keep!

Notice the serious snowfall rates disappear at the same time CAA commences and the coastal front begins to suck back to the SE. The intense frontogenesis is weakening now, and so are the insane rates with it.

Bingo!

It's probably a shred fest now on rad going forward.  Though if one ends up in a band it will still come down good...

It looks like this storm will go down as a CT event and just major elsewhere - though blizzard or not verifying; you don't need huge snow totals to verify a blizzard.
