Absolutely. I've got a ton of photos will post whenever power returns. I've been doing short bursts using lte and the laptop.

Nstar is saying no earlier than Tuesday for people to start getting power back in bulk. We will see

my sister is without power. I called her cell 2hrs ago and we talked briefly. She sai her house was at 50degrees and all the freezer stuff was in a tub in the backyard. I assume her house will be in the 40s by morning

Have you ever seen anything like that? I am just now realizing how special that was to be part of

Closest I can compare is December 23, 1997 when we had 45-50 dbz over us for a few hours in a big blob...but it wasn't a banded maturing cyclone like this one was...the setup was different.

How much per hour?

The 1997 blob produced 6-8" per hour snows. Never seen that IMBY since...2005 had a band near Falmouth that produced similar snow and now this storm did over CT and N LI.

How do you think it compares with the lake effect bands over the tug hill? This one over long island seemed to get its act together and get ANGRY, exploding over them. the lake effect bands seem to gradually develop, spread over the area and drift south, north....Similar I guess...but for the most part, I don't think they are even this organized. The stronger ones in the Tug are usually 3-4" per hour I would think?

This image deserves to be posted one more time:

I swear when that red shaded band hit me that I was being pelted with hail mixed with with the heavy snow.  I went out to experience the heavy snow only to have chunks of ice come flying at me by the 30mph winds.  It was not fun.  The snow was, but not the ice.

Yes, I felt the hail too, and actually tweeted Ryan about it!  I never knew it was possible to get hail in a snowstorm...

Is 40" in Hamden legit?

wow...

New Haven got 34.3".

Clintonville had a spotter report of 37" just a couple miles down the road...so it certainly backs up Hamden's report. It does make me wonder if any of the offices try to followup with any of the Public report beyond checking it against radar and surrounding obs. I'm not a spotter but got my report in today via Facebook...but they just kinda take my word for it without knowing really who I am. I did preface my report by mentioning "proper" measurement since a report from Clinton last night was almost definitely simply current snow depth.

So the official totals were:

KBOS: 24.9" (5th all time records)

KORH: 28.7" (3rd all time)

KBDL: 22.8" (3rd all time?)

KPVD: 16.5" (not sure where this ranks, but not top 5)

PVD seems really low...but no surprise. They seem to always come in low.

BDR 30.0" (greatest)

#2 at BDL according to Ryans station.
