So the official totals were:

KBOS: 24.9" (5th all time records)

KORH: 28.7" (3rd all time)

KBDL: 22.8" (3rd all time?)

KPVD: 16.5" (not sure where this ranks, but not top 5)

PVD seems really low...but no surprise. They seem to always come in low.

BDR 30.0" (greatest)

I can not wait until the reanalysis of that death band comes in. I and others were hit with an initial gust that was stronger than anything. since I have lived here. The entire house shook, branches flew and pounded off the house. I would estimate visibility was below 25 feet for about 5 mins. The radar showed an incredible 56dbz at the time with gravity wave sigs along a 70 plus mile line.

Those obs are just crazy, this is one of those nights when you feel like Mike Tyson just pummeled your ass all day long...........tons of snow moved today.

Ct Mass and LI the focus of media, by the way the island got absolutely nuked, some of the pics vids and stories are insane.

Always thought the island was NE anyways.

Can't believe Wachusett and B'East opened. How do people get there (legally)?

They didn't.  But fook breaking the law was worth it, it was fantastic.  Light fluffy 18", whooshing sounds, big air, soft landings, and turned into a bluebird by noon with light winds.  That place is so fantastic.  Piece of Vermont in our back yard.

I had a guy tell me he called the state police once he found out that they were opening and was told so long as he didn't crash and need rescue they weren't giving anybody problems for driving.  FWIW the martial law business should absolutely NOT be a state wide decision.  City or county is fine, but climatology and demographics are too varied across the state for that.   I appreciate the staties were totally reasonable out here, but they shouldn't be put in that position IMO.

I was saying earlier maybe not historic for the hilltowns but that perhaps historic for some of the towns in the valley.  Northampton came in close to 25" I think.  Multiple 19 - 21"  reports from Greenfield/Montague area.

Absolutely true.  Noho jackpotted (locally) for sure, it was really deep there.  Everything on Main St. was closed, we were lucky to get coffee in the only place open in town which was packed with snowshoers, skiers, etc.  Much more than 1/12/11 when I measured 16-17" downtown there.  Such a fantastic sh*tshow when they get snow.  Really fun.

At my house in B'town 1/12/11 was 2' and this was roughly 20".   Since I've lived in this area I believe this was the 3rd biggest storm, behind Feb 2001 and 1/12.  Roughly tied with March 2001 and Octobomb.  For Noho it might be the biggest in many years however.

My wife says nurses at Yale NH hospital aren't being allowed to leave. A lot of nurses can't make it in for night shift...same thing happened this morning. A lot of nurses there have been there since Friday morning.

Hope she gets a nice fat overtime check, that's nuts.

Nah, he reported 31.6".  He's at the SW corner of a lake and I think it drifts into his yard.  That or or he added up his 6 hour totals.   I don't doubt that he measured that but I had no measurement over 28" around my house.

Same here, and I'm right on the Stafford line.  What did you come up with for a final measurement?

I take that 1978 is still king?

Would this be better than 2005, I'll assume yes *except for Cape*.

I got lucky and it looks like it extended over to the nws Taunton employee in east sandwich. They ended up with 17", we were under better returns most of the day I'm reasonably certain we got 20+. There's no reports nearby that are updated nobody has power.

The cape appears to have missed out in the big snows though by and larger per the PnS

Also agree with ginx that the warwick ob may not be terrible.

This was more destructive than 2005 in regards to winds/flooding/outages but 2005 had more snow in SE Mass and the cape.

Absolutely. I've got a ton of photos will post whenever power returns. I've been doing short bursts using lte and the laptop.

Nstar is saying no earlier than Tuesday for people to start getting power back in bulk. We will see

I'm extremely fortunate to have had my power restored at 830 this morning. The grid around here is amazingly resilient. Only lost power for 30 seconds during Sandy. However..the rest of my family in Plymouth/wareham are fooked.

CON's 24.0" is 2nd and PWM's 31.9" is 1st.
