CT Rain
How is BDL so low compared to other reports around their area? Are they low? Seemed like sort of a screw zone up there. Amounts ramp up south of BDL.
MainePhotog
I think Portland already did, And there will be a few others, I am up to 25" here and counting Yes, Portland did hit 30''. I may hit it to. Still snowing at a decent rate. Last measured 27.1'' at 9 am and confident that there has been 3'' since then. Will measure again at 2 pm. weathafella
Drinking some coffee before shoveling. I do it slowly in deference to my advanced yeqrs but I enjoy it...it's snow. BOS should be mid 30s for the season when the final is in.....never would have imagined it a few weeks ago...lol. Lots of folks preached patience and it ws warranted. I remember Will at the gtg saying that weenies would be upset at times but the pattern is ripe. Ginxy too. I'm looking at a deep snow pack....hopefully will be added to before going away completely (would take a mega torch or prolonged snowless stretch). Snow is so beautiful! Doggy enjoyed romping in it and now in her little doggy brain knows it was a blip last year.

Max
Are they low? Seemed like sort of a screw zone up there. Amounts ramp up south of BDL. I'm in Suffield just south of Six Flags and measured 24" depth in a somewhat sheltered area at 3am.

leesun
How is BDL so low compared to other reports around their area? What did you get? I estimate 28" here. We were in the edge of that band for a while and BDL was west of it.
Baroclinic Zone
This snow was so much more denser than 2005 for the 1st half. Unreal. 8-10" fell with temps above 32F.
USCAPEWEATHERAF
If we survive the rain on Monday/Tuesday, then we will see another storm here by next weekend, question remains too far south or not.

Max
What did you get? I estimate 28" here. We were in the edge of that band for a while and BDL was west of it. Measured a minimum of 24" at 3am so I'm sure that 28" is probably what I ended up with because just visually its 27 to 30 over everywhere with higher drifts. And I'm located towards the end of mapleton ave.
weatherwiz
We broke all of our shovels. The guy downstairs used his work van to go to our landlords and get their snow blower.
leesun
Are they low? Seemed like sort of a screw zone up there. Amounts ramp up south of BDL. Not true, Southwick, MA got 28" and we got 28" here.
USCAPEWEATHERAF
I agree the Blizzard of 2005 was so much lighter in fluffiness due to the cold temperatures before the storm, also traveled much closer to the region then the Blizzard of 2013. A storm for next weekend is just as possible as was this one, but EURO says no, so might have to wait that one.

I did not do 6 hour measuring, so between compacting and wind, we could have gotten a liitle more.
Brian5671
Wonder how long till schools open in New England? Ugh monday for most...maybe Tue for a select few...thank God this was on weekend-after 6 hurricane days, we'd have 3-4 more if this were a Monday
weathafella
While this is a signal for next week, it's not a big event signal if anything. Much better signal around Presidents' Day. I am supposed to go to do for the day on 2/19 but can figure out a way to cancel if I risk missing anything. Snow junkie....as soon as the flakes diminish, he wants more.... red
I'm going with 18.5 so far. The band that's been over my head all morning looked like it was getting ragged but it seems to filling back in nicely. I measured 7" at 5:30 so this band has laid down roughly 2"/hr since I've been awake.
codfishsnowman
the totals on the pns seem too low for spfd/chicopee/enfield and lots of other reports of other reports locally of amounts higher than me
weathafella
Yup heavy again here Kevin, you're under that rotting band. Couldn't be better for you! I'm hoping to pick up a dingleberry from the rotating band asit exits the region offshore.
