Zelocita Weather
Hey guys....the one band in ne nj was incredible at 3-4" rates with 12" otg.....you have oodles more to go...can't wait to see if someone cracks 40 up there....
N. OF PIKE
if that band of moisture(radar returns) to the SE of the main death band, can have enuf west progress to join it/ be absorbed into it (death band) , i would think the death band would expand and go insane over KBOS in an hour's time
TheSnowman
What is that New Area, Really a Band, from the Islands to Worcester in a line that is just Pumping up? Stationary Too! Exploding in the last few frames as the Main Death Band comes in? This what the models were hinting at to Crush us another 12"?
shaggy
If it doesn't pass the smell test then it is false. I am using this site so i can get multiple obs from across the NE. Both norwood and Boston show winds over 90 thats why i was wondering. http://www.nws.noaa.gov/view/national.php?map=on http://www.nws.noaa.gov/view/states.php?state=MA&map=on 09 00:54 N 30 G 98 09 01:53 N 17 G
ct_yankee
OK, still snowing relatively heavily in HVN and now downtown is beginning to look a bit like '78. My guess is totals will be higher for this one, but without those hurricane force winds the impact won't be quite as bad, nor the drifts as high. But it's going to be much closer than I thought, and I could still wake up to find I've been proven wrong. Last post for me, I gotta get some sleep. joey2002
This is worse than the Jan 2005 final death band that came through...only one that beats this one in is my temp was like down to 6F in that one lol. I've never seen anything like the death band that moved through around 9pm tonight... that was just insane.

40/70 Benchmark
All that whining Ray to cweat... y'all will get crushed. Yea....but it's transient now. Just frustrating to have it modeled to setup shop over e MA, only to see it west. I'll still get over 2', but should have had the truly epic stuff
OSUmetstud
I don't think that band will pivot eastward to over eastern MA. It will probably die somewhere just east of worcester.

Arnold214
Wow, this is remarkable...it ramping up even more now as the band just enters MBY....this is literally almost zero vis, maybe 100-200 feet. Wind has been ramping up all night too. Pretty much sustained over 30mph since 11pm. Dude, This is amazing. Only twice have I seen conditions like this. Band is rotting overhead while winds increase. weatherwiz
Wow...a friend of mine who volunteers with the Avon FD got a call of a fire alarm on Deercliff Rd on Avon Mountain...for anyone not familiar with Avon Mountain and Rt. 6 that's one of the most dangerous roads in the country...the path up there wasn't even plowed and they had to call the DOT to make a path for them...they ended up having to walk a part of the way and my friend said the snow was knee deep. Chill
Looks like we're in some kind of superband or something like that....big long dark blue band on radar running parallel to the coast all the way from St. John, N.B., down through Me., N.H., Mass, and Ct.....pretty impressive, wish it would push NW all the way to the Ca. border! ORH_wxman
Dude, This is amazing. Only twice have I seen conditions like this. Band is rotting overhead while winds increase. We have actual whiteout right now...can't see 100 yards. This is legit 4" per hour, this reminds me of Dec 2005 except heavier with better winds. Might not be as heavy as it was in E MA. But for here it is similar intensity or better but much better winds. Winds are just sick.
