If it doesn't pass the smell test then it is false.

I am using this site so i can get multiple obs from across the NE. Both norwood and Boston show winds over 90 thats why i was wondering.

OK, still snowing relatively heavily in HVN and now downtown is beginning to look a bit like '78. My guess is totals will be higher for this one, but without those hurricane force winds the impact won't be quite as bad, nor the drifts as high. But it's going to be much closer than I thought, and I could still wake up to find I've been proven wrong.

Last post for me, I gotta get some sleep.

Also the ground was bare to start this storm... '78 had a few feet of snow already on the ground.

Wow, this is remarkable...it ramping up even more now as the band just enters MBY....this is literally almost zero vis, maybe 100-200 feet. Wind has been ramping up all night too. Pretty much sustained over 30mph since 11pm.

Dude, This is amazing. Only twice have I seen conditions like this. Band is rotting overhead while winds increase.

Wow...a friend of mine who volunteers with the Avon FD got a call of a fire alarm on Deercliff Rd on Avon Mountain...for anyone not familiar with Avon Mountain and Rt. 6 that's one of the most dangerous roads in the country...the path up there wasn't even plowed and they had to call the DOT to make a path for them...they ended up having to walk a part of the way and my friend said the snow was knee deep.

Looks like we're in some kind of superband or something like that....big long dark blue band on radar running parallel to the coast all the way from St. John, N.B., down through Me., N.H., Mass, and Ct.....pretty impressive, wish it would push NW all the way to the Ca. border!

We have actual whiteout right now...can't see 100 yards. This is legit 4" per hour, this reminds me of Dec 2005 except heavier with better winds. Might not be as heavy as it was in E MA. But for here it is similar intensity or better but much better winds. Winds are just sick.
