I know it's not as strong as this storm, but this reminds me of the Feb. 6th, 2008 storm; big flakes, near freezing, snow coming almost straight down. There's a nasty layer of black ice on the roads which started out wet. Yesterday the heavy snow wasn't forecast to start until later this afternoon.
