ace0927
Yeah, this NAM run looks even better than 12z. Didn't think that was possible. More digging in the northern stream, and a much stronger, consolidated southern stream vort. weird the way the southern stream vort jumps east from h18 to h21
Ed Lizard
NYC itself might be close on actually verifying a blizzard, but I think a blizzard warning can be justified for most of the OKX CWA
IsentropicLift
Hr 24 looks like rain from city south 850 freezing line is still south of the city
Dsnowx53
I'd watch out. This might come too far west. Pattern is too progressive for that. Mixing might be an initial "problem" for coastal areas of course, but we're going to get absolutely hammered by the CCB, regardless.

Dosh
Wow, already have 3-6" on the ground for folks from I-78/287 on north by 2pm tomorrow. Low-level warmth will be an issue, this run is hugging the coast

Mixing might be an initial "problem" for coastal areas of course, but we're going to get absolutely hammered by the CCB, regardless. The progressive pattern that I was worried might screw us might actually save us. I do think the NAM is being a little too aggressive-no other model even comes close to showing a 500mb cutoff over the Carolinas.

WE GOT HIM
Colder than 12z however, at least at 850 mb. With this type of precip 850s are the most important

Storm At Sea
That's all rain and maybe some PL. NAM is waaay too aggressive, but I would expect this from 18 z run. Wow, we already have 3-6" on the ground by 2pm tomorrow
IsentropicLift
hr 27, here comes the deform band, any areas still raining will quickly change back over

I'll gladly take a bit more rain/mixing if that means we can get an even heavier CCB...

IsentropicLift
Too warm honestly for NE NJ/NYC to be all snow No, anybody northwest of the city should be fine, and I think the city itself is still all snow on this run, maybe sleet will mix in for 3 hours or so. Dsnowx53
Torching along the coast on this run. This storm is hugging the coast too much for anyone east of the turnpike or south of I-80 That's not a torch. Most soundings are essentially isothermal with the heavy precip, with maybe a small warm layer just below 850mb.
