mattlacroix4
I can't tell you how excited I am about this GFS run. If it comes up with higher amounts, I really will jump on the giant weenie train.
ctsnowstorm628
This GFS is the biggest run for me since january 2011, if it goes to the EURO, I get blizzard, NAM, low end advisory... Crossing fingers! -skisheep NAM is on crack for SW CT. Gradient wouldn't be like that.
PWMan
A lot of dry humping of a model people thought should be discontinued before this run. To be fair, I don't see much dry-humping. I think folks are primarily just amazed to see that depiction. Sometimes porn has to be appreciated on its own terms! Incredible to think this model wasn't showing any phase at all about 24 hours ago.
Baroclinic Zone
Gang, we gotta lay off the quick replies. This thread is moving way to fast, Please add something of substance regarding the models or just post in the Banter thread,
OceanStWx
NAM Bufkit spitting out 52" (with some QPF left to come after the end of the run) for KPSM.
SlantStickers Anonymous
Necn new map puts essentially all of SNE except the cape and SW CT in a 10+" zone.
SR Airglow
NAM is on crack for SW CT. Gradient wouldn't be like that. Good to know, what would you think a realistic solution interms of snow amounts would be for me on the NAM? High advisory/low warning(6"?) would be my guess, but that's completly intuition. -skisheep
OceanStWx
It is encouraging to see the NAM come on board with the phase, lends a little more support to the growing consensus. But the QPF is tossed.

weathafella
I think as guidance hits this harder and harder we have to take seriously the fact that this storm MAY be historic with odds increasing. Sure lots of little issues can "screw" people but I think this is as good as it gets in this time frame for New England.
weatherMA
Mean on the srefs here is 21". Lol insanity.
donsutherland1
I had a meeting this morning, so I didn't see the breathtaking outcome on the NAM for now. My only thoughts are that the NAM's shift from 6z raises confidence that much of New England could be in for a big storm. The probability of a top 10 snowstorm is increasing. Hopefully, upcoming runs on the GFS and ECMWF will reinforce that potential.

Sure lots of little issues can "screw" people but I think this is as good as it gets in this time frame for New England. As long as the rest of 12z shows the same today, I would really start to lean in that direction
mahk_webstah
Of course, there are some things it does well. I'm just commenting on the fact that most people here toss it immediately...until it shows 4" frozen QPF. I think it gets tossed depending on the context. In this case not totally tossed because it came towards the Euro. Will I get 60 inches? probably not. But the Euro has shown 3.5 inches as of yesterday, so the NAM is not out on its own. mattb65
Nam is really warm NAM verbatim wasn't that warm for E MA - I checked up around BVY and it was easily all snow. Down around Brockton, it briefly flirts with pingers but verbatim stayed all snow even down there.
wx2fish
Some of the SREF members are as ridiculous as the NAM. Theres like 10 members above 30" for KASH on the plumes. Just insanity.

weathafella
Don't get sucked in, Jerry. Let the 12z GFS and it's taint and dry slot heal your mind. I'm thinking region wide. So sure it can happen but don't lose site of how big this can be all over the region.
WxUSAF
Hide ya kids, hide ya wife, and hide ya husband Ratios might not be great with the fairly warm temperatures in the snow growth region. No dendrites there. But...if that much QPF falls...

Zeus
Gfs gonna be a blizzard. Perhaps, but it's faster than the NAM and Euro it looks like. Still a significant timing difference.
