Back home to my VA place after 2 successful property showings this weekend.

Would like one more big snow before the property goes to someone else. Looks like the next 3 weeks will be my last hope?

8PM: 28.5 at my WV place and 33.7 here in Boyce.

Now see a WSW is up at my WV place. Wonder if it will be expanded east by morning?

Certainly a wetter event coming in Tuesday.

I'll bet it's expanded east. Temps look to be cold, and the precip looks to be coming in quick around daybreak. At this point at least.

This weekend looks cold!!!  Highs only in the 30s Friday through Sunday?  That would be 10-15 degrees below normal.

On an unrelated note - nice day today.  And a lot of birds singing.  Sounds like spring outside.

I noticed the birds yesterday.. seemed to be more Robins around, plus I saw a Blue Jay.  I'm all about the signs of spring at this pt since it seems real spring isn't around anytime soon.

ill never root against snow but its reallllllllly hard to want to see it snow at this pt.  whatever we get is bound to be a slopfest that disappears in 30 minutes when it's over. plus we made it this long, we might as well not sully this horrific winter with some sort of consolation prize.

It would be sort of lame if we get some last minute storm that rains on us but manages to dump a rogue 10 inches on psuhoffman and Winchester. Then we'd have to forever hear about how the winter of 12/13 "wasn't that bad."

I don't want to poo poo the talk of the great winter pattern we're seeing with the beast PNA ridge and block, but we're coming into March and I can't get excited about snow threats anymore.  I love snow as much as anyone, but having it be chilly for days on end only to end up chasing a potential slopfest that melts in a day isn't exactly insipring.

I want spring.

Board is dead today, think many may need to go on antidepressants ...

Biggest event since January mostly rain of course yet some of us will have the biggest ice accretion of the season and front end sleet.

40 page observation thread for flurries ... yet all is quiet for this one even though WWA for large portions of the area.  This may overperform IMBY. I always watch temps around JonJon and when he is still cold for these this type event the cold layer is still pretty thick.

Well...I'm here all the time reading anyway.  Maybe the next few weeks produce something, maybe not.  Until the true signs of spring show up on the models, I'll believe anything can happen.  I mean DT is already talking about the March 6-7 dealio.  Of course its going to verify.

Good luck finding spring on the models too. No snow and no warmth. Just the worst for early March.

Agreed, but on the bright side, if you like spring, once we get past mid-month, even a cool day with -8 or -9 departures still gets us a 50 degree day.  Throw some sun and light/no wind in with that, and it's pretty nice.  Of course, we have three weeks to get there, and I wouldn't mind a couple of light snow events between now and then, even if they're quickly gone.

yes but surprised winterweatherlvr and other westerners have not chimed in...

affirms my point. The depression is deeper than Boston's winter snow total and I think most are ready for spring just to move on past the pain?

A little freezing rain does absolutely nothing for me.  Rain in any form is just rain.  Besides, daylight rain at this point in the season is not freezing any more than snow would be sticking.
