Nikolai
NYC has been saved by the pivot but all of Jersey is screwed, caught in the subsidence between the bands over NYC & PA. Quasievil
Tried to find a good webcam all day to check out the action up there but didn't find anything as good as the Wrigley Field one from last years blizzard. Major kudos to whoever named this thread by the way: brilliant and funny.

While there isn't meteorological basis for this, if you are relying on snow to wrap after a phase to make up your snow totals, the party is over. needbiggerboat
You're right, of course. But I've finally gotten used to the let-downs, it's just a part of living in this region. And I have to admit -- love watching the snow happen, hate cleaning it up at this age. I think shoveling the three huge storms in the winter of 2010 was the genesis of my nagging back pain/issues. That winter broke my appreciation for snow...I had a shoulder reconstruction in the Fall, thinking we wouldn't have a bad winter. Shoveling with one good arm wasn't easy, plus I fell on the ice a couple times. I found the combo of Totino's pizza rolls and percocet as the only thing that got me through the winter. Well, I recall the night before the Feb. 10 2010 blizzard, we faced a similar situation as NYC is now. We dry slotted, and we were battling sleet, and everyone was calling bust. A few hours later, it was a raging blizzard. Not sure this will be same situation, but that was very much a situation where we had to wait for second half, and it delivered, for us to get our snow/blizzard. Deck Pic
looks like PVD is being dryslotted....I think these 24"+ totals are going to be localized.....I think 16-20" will be popular totals in SNE...someone will get 32" of course...it always happens....not sure if there will be multiple 28-34" precip maxes
